OU would roll the hawkeyes

Northwestern's offense is absolutely pathetic. Nobody was cherry picking anything to say that. You should pick and choose your battles moving forward because you're better than this

Agreed.

Here is how the conversation went.

ISU fan #1: Not playing a top 15 team until December would be (lucky).
Iowa fan: Check Northwestern's ranking.
ISU fan #2: Look at their 114th total offensive ranking.... they must be really good.

The poster clearly cherry picked a single stat ranking to imply a team isn't good. I think I made a pretty clear point that doing so looks pretty stupid. Any Iowa fan trying to say Baylor isn't good solely based off their 44th ranked defense or TCU with their 71st ranked defense would be equally stupid.

Bovada has Michigan State -4 for tomorrow night. I believe this is the 2nd time in 13 games that Iowa has been an underdog this year. First was at Wisconsin which Iowa won 10-6 including a Wisky fumble at the goal line when the QB hilariously fell down.

Because he got stepped on by his center, who got pushed back by Nate Meier. That wasn't the hand of God reaching down and smiting Wisconsin. Iowa made a play and took advantage of it. Plus, even if Wisconsin had scored there, there were like 7 minutes left in the game at that point. A touchdown there hardly would have guaranteed victory.

Good chance without the fumble Iowa still stuffs them on the 3-4 yard line. Seeing how Wisconsin wasn't just scoring at will that game it's just as likely Iowa forces them into a field goal that series, IMO. 10-9 Iowa and good guys still 12-0. Just as likely as any other outcome where Wisconsin is guaranteed a TD that drive.

And in that high scoring shoot out Iowa totally would have scored a TD with 7 minutes left....

So we can all agree Northwestern's offense sucks and OU would roll the Hawkeyes?
Yes.

Hopefully we get the chance to find out. I know you (and the rest of America) would be excited to watch two storied, blueblood programs like Oklahoma and Iowa slug it out for a spot in the National Championship.

Will the Hawk fans leave Cyclone Fanatic after a loss tomorrow or do they stick around to discuss their December Peach Bowl matchup against Temple? Only time will tell

That's some good trolling there. Well done!

Unfortunately for Hawk fans I think the ride stops this weekend. I wouldn't be shocked to see them win but just don't think it happens. Iowa could win their bowl game though if it is the right match up.

All I will say about Iowa playing Michigan State is this:

Imagine playing a team of Michigan States caliber 4 out of 5 weeks.

Unfortunately I think you're right. Lets just hope that they either get picked up by the Rose and play Stanford or the Fiesta and play Notre Dame. Give America what they want with the big name matchups. I know people are still fuming after the legendary "Fainting Irish" fiasco in '53.

Big ten?

There is no one in the big twelve comparable to msu. Msu is a defense first team. Everyone in big 12 is completely the opposite. So I will imagine playing in a defense first league, wait that is where Iowa plays.

Good talk.

This Iowa team was favored in 11 games this year, that's really all you need to know about their schedule.

I'm not going to debate with you over where MSU would be in the Big 12, as that wasn't my point, and we'd never agree for obvious reasons.

My point is this: Imagine if Iowa played a team of Michigan State's caliber 4 out of 5 weeks during the regular season. Because that is what ISU does. TCU, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, OSU. Combined record is 45-15. Things would look a little different, correct?

Instead Iowa got to play Maryland, Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, and Nebraska. Combined record? 21-39.
