OU/Okie St Thread

Start with OU prediction.

125 - 3-0 ISU
133 - 6-0
141 - 10-0 (this is assuming no Schwartz, gets tougher if he goes)
149 - 10-3 (McDougald has an odd style, also assuming it’s not Casey)
157 - 14-3
165 - 19-3
174 - 19-6 - want to win this one. Picklo hasn’t been as good this year but he worries me here.
184 - 25-6
197 - 25-10
285 - 29-10 good guys

Wrestlestat has it 21-9 Ok State with Iowa State winning Casey, Carr and Yonger

Lot of close matchups for sure but I like our chances at 141 and 157 too which would be a 12 point swing from that dual score from wrestle stat. Just have a hard time seeing every toss up match going their way. But I am also very nervous about performances at the usual problem areas of 125, 174, 197.

Probable Line-ups as per track
125: #24 Kysen Terukina, 8-4, SR (ISU) vs #11 Troy Spratley, 12-4, FR (OSU)
133: #8 Evan Frost, 11-2, FR (ISU) vs #3 Daton Fix, 6-0, SR (OSU)
141: #8 Anthony Echemendia, 13-3, JR (ISU) vs #9 Tagen Jamison, 10-4, FR (OSU)
149: #8 Casey Swiderski, 8-2, SO or Zach Redding, 5-3, SR (ISU) vs #25 Sammy Alvarez, 3-3, SR or Jordan Williams, 7-4, FR (OSU)
157: #9 Cody Chittum, 10-3, FR (ISU) vs #15 Teague Travis, 13-1, SO (OSU)
165: #2 David Carr, 14-1, SR (ISU) vs #3 Izzak Olejnik, 15-1, SR (OSU)
174: MJ Gaitan, 11-5, FR (ISU) vs #30 Brayden Thompson, 6-4, FR (OSU)
184: #9 Will Feldkamp, 9-4, JR (ISU) vs #2 Dustin Plott, 16-1, SR (OSU)
197: #29 Julien Broderson, 6-4, JR (ISU) vs #16 Luke Surber, 6-2, SR (OSU)
285: #3 Yonger Bastida, 15-0, SR (ISU) vs #9 Konner Doucet, 11-2, JR (OSU)

My guess is that there are gonna be some pins in here that make this thing wild. I could even see it coming down to needing a major from Yonger and having it come down to criteria.

I'm pretty sure Wrestlestat is purely algorithm-based.
With so many young guys involved in this dual and the conference dual season just beginning, there's not enough statistical data to back up what our eyes tell us.
I don't put much stock in their predictions until pretty much the end of the season. Even then, wrestling is so wild it's hard to predict anything.
That said, I still love the site. It's great for quickly looking up past matches and stats in general.

Gonna be a tough one, but I like our chances:
125 - Anything can happen at this weight this season; who knows.
133 - Fix
141-165 - Give me the good guys, so long as Swiderski ends up going.
174-184 - These will be fun to watch. I hope Feldkamp pulls something crazy and sticks Plott, but that's a tall order.
197 - Hopefully, Broderson can keep this one tight like at CKLV, but I think Surber was dinged up in Vegas.
285 - Hoping Yonger can take it to Doucet. Konner has been stingy, but I could see Bastida cracking the match open, especially if the dual is close.

Doucet will be stalled out if the match is called correctly. He’s not going to do much.

I hope it comes down to Yonger. There's no one I'd rather have in that kind of a spot. If we can still win going into heavy, start the the truck.

I think if we are within a major dec to win, Yonger can do it. If it's a pin, it may be tough, Yonger isn't the biggest pinner.
