OT: Snow day!

My work is cancelled today! I didn't think I'd every know the joy of the snow day once I got out of public school... This is glorious...

ISU class is still in session, not cool man. People don't have to work, but I still have to learn and take tests. Sounds like some Communist run operation.
 
All Wells offices in dsm are closed so we are closed also! Woohoo! Now I need to hope it stops, my new HDTV is getting delivered today at 5.

I've worked for WF for over 20 years and this is the first time I can remember closing enterprise wide. Ususally they let each business unit make their own call. Hooray for "One Wells Fargo"
 
My work is cancelled too...however, I was up at the normal time--5:45 and can't get back to sleep! It stinks getting old.
 
Anyone know if Nationwide/Allied offices are closed today? I have some family that works there and was planning on driving out to CO after work. I hope they can still make it...

This doesn't make sense to me either. Ames has basically shut down completely, yet, I still have to hand in a paper. Arrrrgh:angry6wn:

I-80 is still closed from WDM to the state line so they aren't going anywhere until that changes. I think the wind is supposed to calm down some this afternoon which should improve conditions a lot

Thanks for the updates. Sounds like they're going to miss their grandson's first birthday.
 
I am going to guess that we have class today as a make-up for yesterday, when it turned out there really wasn't any need to cancel classes in the afternoon. The interstates may be closed, and all other Ames/Des Moines area schools may be closed, but by God, we WILL have class today at ISU! :rofl8yi:
 
All I want is out of Iowa, stranded in the Econlodge @ Sioux Center.......flights canceled everything in NW Iowa is shut down. This valadiates why I moved out of here 10 years ago.

I worked for Allied for awhile, they only closed early twice, once for weather and the other for 9/11.

Thanks. His mother and I are much more excited about it than he is. :-)

We want the rest of the family to be safe, but it sucks that they wont be able to see him dive into that little cake.
