OT - Cutting Cable

I think we need a current streaming TV service check in. What is everyone on right now? I’m on:

Hulu Live (love the sports situation and access to ESPN app)

We’re still on our original cord cutting plan. We traded a Netflix and Hulu login for a DirectTV login. Everybody Wins.

We got a Amazon login from my sister-in-law and I added PGA tour live for 2 months this winter when Tiger was coming back, but that’s about it. I don’t even need MLB.tv and a VPN anymore since in market streaming is ok now with a login. Probably won’t add anything until Game of Thrones goes back.

It’s hard to beat $20/month for everything

I have been using DIRECTV NOW for over a year and love it. I am grandfathered in at $35 a month for their top plan because I signed up when they first started.

We have DirecTV now for the 3 month deal to get the free AppleTV, but will probably drop that when the 3 months are done. I think we'll spend the summer without any package then startup YouTube.tv in the fall to get local channels included.

Also switched to Directv Now for the Apple TV deal. We are beta testing the new app, including the DVR. It works ok, not as well as PS Vue. The new app overall is far superior I will say. If Directv adds the NFL Network before the season starts I will likely keep it. If not I will be back to Vue.

I'd like to do the same, but I really want Golf Channel. That's why I'm thinking of going with YouTubeTV.
Sling Blue plus Sports Extra has the Golf Channel. $35/month ($25 base + $10 sports extra) is getting up there in same range as YTTV, DTVN, PSVue though.

And then in the fall, when I would want the Orange + Blue package so you get both the ESPN channels and FS1 and FS2, you'd be looking at $50 per month with Golf Channel.

So YTTV really wouldn't be much different in price.

The new interface with DirecTV Now when they get DVR up and running is so much better then the current one they have. I thought I'd miss NFL Network, but I really haven't.

PS Vue on a PS3 and a slow connection. Works pretty well. Also have Netflix and OTA channels. Sometimes get HBO now. Also Amazon prime.

What device are you using? I have a FireTV and Vue is the only app the buffers. HBO Go, Netflix, Amazon Prime all work great

We have a firestick on the tv in our bedroom which buffering is horrible, but our main tv is a roku tv and don't have nearly as much problem with buffering. Even better is using the ps4 to run PSvue.
