Oregon State wondering what the return policy is?

If a team believed they were on solid footing, I don't blame them for not wanting to trade their situation to one of being in a 20-team conference and travelling all over the country. I think their media rights in the MW are likely to be a little better than the numbers in that conference now, but they'll either have to get substantial donations or the university's general fund will have to pitch in. I don't think we should take them in because it would marginally weaken us rather than adding anything. If the tOSU's of the world don't go around giving out charity, we certainly can't afford to.
This will sound mean, but in the long run, if other teams get demoted, it's good for ISU.

I hope all the contractors and lenders get paid appropriately. But if the banks have to renegotiate terms, I wouldn't feel too bad.

The whole concept of lending is based on risk. If they were given a loan, the banks should have taken into account the risk of OSU not being able to pay according to the terms and priced that into whatever the interest rate is.

Somehow, I think it will all work out for everyone. In America, we are pretty good at figuring out bailouts when large amounts of money are involved. At least for large corporations and institutions.

Wouldn’t that be done with bonds rather than a bank loan? In the end, it’s the state taxpayers that are on the hook for the risk.

Maybe Oregon will be asked to support them as they were the cause of their collapse? Similar to UCLA and Cal. Probably depends on the makeup of their Regents.

That is a gorgeous stadium. It's a damn shame they are about to be relegated. Wish the Big 12 could make room somehow.
Keep in mind ISU would be in the same boat and if OSU was in the life raft do you think they would advocate for us?

I am with CW in that Im tired of everyone now caring about the sanctity of regional conferences and traditional rivalries. The numbers show that in terms of people who actually go and see their team the Big 12 is up there but none of the coastal so called journalists could be bothered to care. Now they stress about the 20K fans in Corvallis that will have to deal with the WCC. GTFO.
