If a team believed they were on solid footing, I don't blame them for not wanting to trade their situation to one of being in a 20-team conference and travelling all over the country. I think their media rights in the MW are likely to be a little better than the numbers in that conference now, but they'll either have to get substantial donations or the university's general fund will have to pitch in. I don't think we should take them in because it would marginally weaken us rather than adding anything. If the tOSU's of the world don't go around giving out charity, we certainly can't afford to.

I went to an Oregon State football game in 1991 (I think) when my best friend from high school used the National Student Exchange program to spend two quarters there while being officially enrolled at Sonoma State. They hosted Washington, which was somewhere in the top 10 at the time. It was a dreary, rainy day (in Oregon in late fall - who knew?) and the Beavers were getting pummeled by halftime, so we left. But even then, it was a decent atmosphere and a fun time. Corvallis is a nice town, just a bit smaller than Ames. They would make a good fit with this league, but I don't see how it would be justified today.
The $37M is TOTAL payout including NCAA dollars, CFP, etc. I believe the media portion of that is $20M +/-. Isn't the Big12 $50M+ ?
It would be interesting to see if Big12 ever talked to OSU or WSU. I doubt it. And WSU & OrSU appeared to double down on Pac12 loyalty during all the realignment talk.
But in 365Sports interview yesterday Jamie said he was resigned that Big12 would only add CU. I realize all the talk was around UConn as 14th team. But would OrSU have been that much of a reach for ESPN/FOX? Especially since they would have come at partial share like UConn.
The Big12 all in media dollars for 2021/22 was around $43/44M.
Once we have a 12 team playoff and Big12 extension, we will be over $50M. And after 2026 the Big12 could be $60M.
Obviously the SEC & Big10 could be closer to $100M.
Corvallis absolutely fits in, wish they had the money to improve that basketball facility though. Ugh.

The Mountain West is potentially looking to expand, and that could mean poaching Washington State and Oregon State from the Pac-12.
They are in a worse spot. We at least had a stronger conference to go to with some others coming along. It was a crummy feeling though back in 2010 during all that crap.
I'd rather have OSU and WSU than UCF or Cincinnati myself.
It's a pretty cool looking stadium, I love the look of the overhangs that Pacific Northwest stadiums have, if jack trice could somehow do something like that it would be kinda neat. But JTS isn't suited for it.
I have a hard time feeling bad for anyone else considering what we have been through. Nobody seemed to feel bad for us. In fact they seemed pretty outwardly happy about our demise. So I’m pretty calloused.
