Welcome back to “On That Note,” CF’s weekly exploration of music, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.
In this segment, we’re looking for songs whose first vocal is the exact title of the song. If any vocalizing occurs prior to that, it doesn’t count. For example “A Hard Day’s Night” won't qualify, since the title is preceded by “It’s been.” Also not allowed: spoken-word passages or “choral” vocals (“ah/oh/ooh,” - random e.g., “Uptown Girl”).
However, the song may contain any amount of instrumentation before the vocals arrive. (And, if it contains lyrics in the first line following the title, it's allowed).
In a separate post, I'll post a few selections to get us started.
