On That Note: Mix Tape

Friendly reminder: Duos don't count. Trio or larger.

Yes, in some cases "duo bands" include backing musicians for specific songs/LPs, but assume the core couplet is the definitive unit.

(No need to revise any posts, just a reminder as we move ahead.)

General Edit-addendum: Keep the songs coming!

Dave & Sugar's "Queen of the Silver Dollar", a #25 Country Singles hit from 1975. It was their first major lable single release. D&S would go on to score eleven top 10 country hits, including three #1s.

"Knee Deep in Loving You", a #2 Country Singles hit from 1977.

Animal Logic was a group formed in 1987 and consisted of Stewart Copeland, Stanley Clarke, and Deborah Holland. I really liked their second album from 1989 (Animal Logic II). The two best tracks, according to me (haha):

I Won't Be Sleeping Anymore

Device's "Hanging on a Heart Attack", a #35 Hot 100 hit from 1986. The vocals were shared by Holly Knight (more known for her songwriting, having done a few singles for Heart) and Paul Engemann. You might also recognize Engemann from the revamped Animotion in 1989 (Room to Move).

And here's "Room to Move", a #9 Hot 100 single from the movie My Stepmother Is an Alien. The female vocal is Cynthia Rhodes, who was married to Richard Marx before he married Daisy Fuentes. Not proud of posting this song as I thought it was pretty dreadful. Just pulling on threads here, one thing leading to another.

Edited once I realized I'd posted the first video twice.
