Don't know why these sad Dad songs come to mind...I don't relate to that at all.

I remember my dad once saying how he liked this song. It took me many years, but I finally figured out what he was talking about.
The cats in cradle song fits me both as a song with a dad mention and because it kind of reflects the relationship I've had with my dad. He remarried and I didn't fit in and for a long time we hardly saw each other. We are good now as he has remarried again to a wonderful woman and also he stopped drinking. I know he would like to see me more pre-covid but a small part of me will always hurt. Among the things we missed sharing together was my high school graduation.

I will always remember riding with my dad and this would come on. He really laid into the calaboose part.

And an Australian group that used that as their group name. If you're FROM Australia this is one of the legendary in-country hits. It only hit in one market here in the USA (Bakersfield CA). This is a good one if anyone wants to listen.
