Omaha Biliew Commits to Iowa State!

Consistency and defensive end I guess which I know, many attribute to slower guys, but not necessarily the case. Matt Thomas was and Caleb Grill are two of our better defenders.
I hear you, but I have to push back a bit a little bit on the comparison.

1) Thomas and Grill both had sufficient length and build out of HS to not be complete liabilities in that department even in the worst scenarios.

2) Caleb Grill was a multi-sport star at Maize, KS. In particular he was a duel threat QB and was a state champion high jumper at 6'10.

3) Thomas was admittedly a less explosive athlete, and he did have a learning curve coming from a program that played zone. However, he had a ready-made physique right out of Onalaska day one and his workout routine, nutrition, and preparation was legendary among his teammates and coaches. Maybe not the best vertical, which is hard to train, but he's right up there with the best in program history in taking his body which helps immensely with just about everything else on the defensive end.

Then you look at Iowa, none of their main rotation guys with a similar role check those positive boxes, and I would argue with bigger respective question marks athletically coming into college ball.

It is amazing how much obsession some ISU fans have with the Hawkeyes. How many McDonald’s All-Americans have they had? This makes two for us.*

(*Actually, three. Royce White was a MAA, but we got him later as a transfer)

I partied at VEISHEA many times, but honestly I don't miss it at all. It was a ******* **** show.

7 or 8ish not incl. transfers.

The more the NIL evolves, the less I worry about how it will or won't have an effect on us.

Do we really want to go to the auction block each and every year to remain competitive, or do we want arguably one the best coaches in the game today identifying talent and then filling the needs we have almost instantly with players that are more concerned about improving themselves and their game while having a legit chance to see the big show year after year?

As long as we have TJ, CMC, B. Fennelly, JP,(the best AD in the world), and the most loyal fans in the known universe, we'll be okay and I'm a happy camper. I've been doing this since the early 60's, and I guarantee it's NEVER BEEN BETTER!!

If our little brother in the East wants to ***** and moan and deny the truth, let 'em. It's tough being a

Not sure if the rating for a MAA has changed but pretty sure any for Iowa were with Lute Olson or Tom Davis and the overall results still weren't crazy for having that many go through.

How did ISU keep NIL from taking this kid in another direction?

Emptied the We Will collective and they told Blum he had to work for free.
No matter how much, if any, $$ Omaha made with his commitment to ISU, he's going to be fine. He will be more than fine. He is going to make a lot of money in the NBA, hopefully.

He has a chance to be a very special player, to ISU and to the NBA. He also has a chance to really win our hearts (in this NIL era). I hope he stays humble. The God-given talent is there.

Well stated Cylones! I love you! I love you all!!!

Thanks Omaha!

I'm really start to like the idea of Williams, Watson, Ward and Biliew on the defensive end. Momcilovic compliments that group really well on the other end. Get a stud SG grad transfer and you're good to go.
Honestly, I like the thought of this guy between Biliew and Momcilovic.

Why not?

Yep, and even if they do value the money, there's an argument to be made for investing your time in a program that can build your skills and work ethic, and make you even more valuable in the near future.
Tyrese went to Texas, and it’s a question how much further he’ll develop there. He chose the short term payoff over the long term investment.

That may backfire on him. Not least, since the Longhorns have a mega recruit freshman PG.

Wonder if he might transfer back next year, having his money in his pocket.

Doubt we'd take him.

Hunter is looking out for #1...clearly. People are sleeping on Tamin Lipsey and forget he was a 5 star recruit before injuring his knee. He is the future of our program at PG.
