OL Sam Rengert Commits

Halsted just did a podcast with Allen Trieu of 247 and Trieu is really high on this guy. Thinks he can be the steal of this class, similar to Mike Rose and Will McDonald.

I think There has been lots of development during the season. We’ve also gone from having a patchwork group of 5 guys to a point where we have a little depth. A few years ago we were frantically searching for JUcos and transfers just to fill out a starting five now we’re getting 2-3 solid players who stick with the program each year. This is the first year we go into the fall without big gaps to fill. I think these guys make a big jump this year.

I agree and this is the first year I have thought that about our OL under Campbell.

Not with the guys we’ve been recruiting thus far, anyway. There are exceptions. I wouldn’t be surprised if Matt Campbell starts signing some before too terribly long.

Interesting how Trieu stumbled around saying that Sam Is “as good if not better” than any OL in the state of Ohio—not named Paris Johnson. Including two other tOSU commits.

Must have a lot of Buckeye subscribers that he dofn’t Want to tick off.
