Oklahoma State Gameday Details

Here are the details for the pre-game gathering prior to the ISU game at Oklahoma State on Saturday February 6th:

attachment.php

We will be meeting the bus with the Kansas City Club at Eskimo Joe’s starting at 10 a.m. before the game and we have coordinated with Iowa State Basketball to have Assistant Coach William Small meet us for a little pregame pep talk. Coach Small will spend a short time going over some of the team's plans and strategy for OSU as well as getting everyone fired up and ready to bring the noise come game time. We expect he will arrive as the restaurant opens at 10AM and should be around for about 60 minutes before he needs to get back to the arena for pregame preparations. We are very fortunate to have this opportunity to have yet another Cyclone coach at our event so let's make sure he has plenty of people to greet him.

Eskimo Joe’s
507 W Elm St
Stillwater, OK
www.eskimojoes.com
405-372-8896

The restaurant opens promptly at 10AM and will fill up quickly. They are unable to reserve a room for us but if we can get enough people to arrive at opening time, they will give us a room. Please show up as close to 10AM as possible so we can have our own space to entertain the coach and do what we do. The restaurant is a few blocks from the basketball arena. We will break things up around noon and head over to watch ISU take on the Cowboys.
We will have plenty of Cyclone posters and will be giving away items signed by members of the 2015-16 Cyclone basketball team

Arena note: Oklahoma State has had problems getting crowds to attend their games over the past few years so I expect that we will be able to move down to better seats once the game tips off. If you still want to go and need tickets please see below. Plenty of seats are available for as little as $10.

Promo Code: ISUCLUBDFW
Cost: $10 each

1. Go to www.okstate.com/tickets
2. Click “Redeem Promo Codeâ€￾ link on left side of page
3. Enter promo code into box labeled “Access an Offerâ€￾ and click “goâ€￾
4. Select Event
5. Follow steps to select seat location and pay online

Tipoff for the game itself is set for 1 PM at Gallagher-Iba Arena

Gallagher Iba Arena
1046 West Hall of Fame Avenue
Stillwater, OK 74078

Hope to see you at either the game or the pre-game

CyDude has puked on their tables. I've seen it with my own eyes.

Seriously though, Stillwater is a lot of fun. A really, really similar vibe to Ames. Just good, salt of the earth-yet educated Midwestern ag folk who like to party. Any ISU fan is going to have a blast there, unless they've got a huge stick up their ***.

Season defining type game. Lose and Isu ends up prob a 7-8 seed. Okie st is not good by any measure. Total must win.

Come witness the power of our fully operational, yet half-full, orange death star!

Most likely, Joe's will be pretty full. Another restaurant opened a few months ago across the street if Joe's is insane. The Garage. Good burgers and some really good beers on tap. That said, I'll be at Joe's. See you there.

No need to leave at noon. It's a very short walk to GIA - 5 minutes, if you're walking slowly.

There are a few other places to eat a little further away, but still within walking distance of GIA. South from Joe's, there's a Qdoba, Cafe88 (inexpensive Asian place - not great, but hey, it's there), then a bit further is Hideaway Pizza.

I suggest you all drink heavily, as there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth (nevermind that it will be us doing it).

Go Pokes!

Actually, let me amend the "no need to leave at noon" line. If you've never been to Heritage Hall in GIA, give it a walk through. It shows all the goodness from OSU's sports history.

Can't wait to get down there. By far the nicest fans in the big xii, and stonewall is calling my name after the game.

I would put the K-State fans up there as nicest fans in big 12. Been there last 2 years we were there for football and this year for basketball and i've met a total of 1 fan i didn't like. Though I am stoked to head to Stillwater this weekend!

Heading down tonight. Andy, my group is looking to stick around Stillwater after the game for awhile and take in all that it has to offer. What's the first place you'd send us?

KSU and OSU are the most similar fanbases to ISU in the country (and consequently to each other). Their towns are similar to Ames as well.

If you're getting into Stillwater tonight, consider going to OU@OSU wrestling at 7pm in GIA. It's more likely that the crowd will be better for it than for the ISU@OSU basketball game. And of course, it will be daylight after the basketball game, so wander around the campus for a bit.

Hideaway for pizza. Tokyo Pot is a fun experience for dinner. Mexico Joe's (sister restaurant to Eskimo Joe's) has ok Mexican food, but for me the draw is a great outside patio...might be chilly for a lunch or dinner though. Right next door to it is MoJo's, which is yet another Joe's restaurant. It has a good bar, better food than Joe's, and...a small bowling alley. Thai Cafe. Rancher's Club is an on-campus steak place. Pricey, really good, definitely make a reservation if you want to go there. Boba Fusion - my favorite Asian place in town. It's where our Asian students go to eat.

Bars have changed a lot since I was in school. Joe's is no longer known as the happenin' night spot anymore, save for game days. It's still a good place to hangout if you have a group though. I'm not a big fan of the food - it's standard bar type stuff. No-smoking.

As mentioned above, Stonewall is good, and close to GIA. It does allow smoking and has crap ventilation. There is an outside area which will be nice with the sunny, mid-50s day.

Mike's College Bar is on the strip. Also smoking. Solid beer list.

Finnegan's is on Main St downtown, which is a short drive away from the arena. Solid beer list. No smoking, expect for the cloud you walk through to get inside. Right next door is Louie's restaurant, which is part of a small Oklahoma chain. Good bar and decent food.

Also on Main St is Brooklyn's restaurant. Nice place with a cool bar area and good food. They have a large basement bar if you have a big group.

Other things in the downtown area - Zannotti's Wine Bar - small, quiet place with a good wine selections, a few beers on tap, and appetizers. Aspen Coffee. District Bicycle Shop (must hit if you ride). Stillwater Summit Outdoor shop. Blue Spruce Gelato (good!).

Saturday breakfast - Red Rock Bakery (great donuts), Granny's Kitchen (big breakfast), Jimmy's Egg (bigger breakfast). And I have to mention ShortCakes Diner - it's a run-down greasy spoon that is the place to go at 2am.

Have a safe trip! Go Pokes!

It's not *right* behind Joe's, but not that far away. Go south two blocks from Joe's on Knoblock, then Hideaway is across the street to the west. Good call on the fried mushrooms there.

I'm meeting friends at Joe's before the game. Hope to meet a few of you.
