Oklahoma State dismisses 3 players

Cats who attended the OU game in Norman said the gym was 3/4 empty. They don't give a damn about basketball in that state and pros in OKC make it even worse. Sad because oSu hoops in the old gym was a great scene with some legendary coaches.
Yeah, it's a pretty crappy situation. He booted the three off this week on the heels of another transfer (Cunningham) departing last week. I'm glad to know that assholery isn't tolerated and swept under the rug on his watch like might have been in the past, and I'm sure still happens at some other programs. We had several departures last year, some expected and others unexpected, that had coach scrambling to fill the roster for this season.
Not much we can do, but say our patented "wait 'til next year" slogan at this point. I just want to see improvement from the team going forward. Our 2019 class gives us a lot of hope for the future. Relevant blurb from the article, "Watson, a 6-foot-6, guard, and Kalib Boone, a 6-foot-8 forward, are both top-100 players and four-star recruits, per 247Sports. Keylan Boone, a 6-foot-6 wing, is ranked No. 241 in the country. Anderson, a 6-foot-2 guard, is ranked No. 122 and four stars."
Boynton will get a fair amount of leeway from fans and administration for a few years. He inherited a tough situation and has to tread very lightly with all the Adidas crap that swirled around Lamont Evans. I think most of our fans are understanding...but at some point, he'll have to bring the wins.

At this very moment I would expect them to be leaving or on the way to Ames.
Sucks for fans. However, I am still trying to figure out how you get two top 100 4 stars when nobody shows up to watch the games. It's miserable. I have been to a game at Okie State before the expansion and it was crazy. Cameron Indoor type atmosphere. Now its' dead
Same question about Baylor but they've never had a good crowd or been crazy.

While our attendance has been bad for awhile, ISU has gotten to see the worst of it the last few years. For whatever reason, the Big 12 screws us with scheduling with you guys. This is the 3rd straight year we've had ISU at home during our intercession.
I think this is the first season in 4-5 years we aren't your senior night opponent.
Our first home Big 12 game with students back, we had a reasonable 2/3 full arena to witness Baylor shoot out of their freaking minds from three (60%).
Old GIA was special. My seats back then were 3 down from the top row - the cheap seats in an arena with no bad seats. There were many games I left with ears that wouldn't stop ringing for hours.
How do we get these players? We've got a young, intelligent, charismatic, and confident coach who is swinging for the fences. He overachieved his first year (swept KU - even Eddie couldn't win there) with a group that didn't have any NBA talent on it. Boynton shows lots of promise, but man, we have to limp past this year.

Lot's of teams have a young, Charismatic coach swinging with full 15k seat arena's going bonkers.
The school that really surprises me is TT with there fan attendance bounce back. Rowdy buggers also, crowd noise on TV was good. They were relentless on Haliburton(?) after that early airball.
That was THT and it wasn’t even an air ball. Rewatched the game and it hit rim, but the students don’t care as they were just trying to get into players heads. It worked too, THT shot terribly from outside the paint wide open and free throws the entire game.
Actually I would be fine with Okie State getting some decent recruits. I mean, we don't want to have a Rutgers, Illinois, Penn State, Boston College, Wake Forest type of program in our conference. We want to maintain that top to bottom best conference in the country for which we have been recognized now for several years.
I don't see that being a problem at 10 teams. May sometimes have rebuilding years that sock it to a team like WV this year, but the talent will still flow in.
I really think Boynton will eventually show he’s one of the best in the conference. I’m extremely impressed with him. If they manage not to finish last this year, then he really did a remarkable job. Next year I think OSU will show the most improvement.

Pokes are easy to root for unlike some teams in this league. They play team ball. They play hard. They're not an assortment of look-at-me, highly ranked guys. They have damn near zero depth. They never whine. And their coach seems like a good dude. I was pleased for them beating BU. Too bad they missed on Ku.
