Oklahoma Roll Call

I had the same misconception before moving down here. OU averaged 10,968 in 2014-2015 in an 11,500 seat arena (95%+). That's not too shabby for having an NBA team 20 miles away.
Those are bogus numbers. I went to several games (B12) ones and the place was never more than 2/3 full. Talk about inflating numbers.

I will be there Jan 2nd, as well as all of the other road games with the exception of the Kansas games...always a good time

They aren't inflating numbers, those are tickets sold. Just like everyone else reports. (I don't know why I'm defending OU here...)
They must have boosters who have agreed to buy huge blocks of tickets at last minute to "inflate" those numbers as there are lots lower seats available from their ticket office the day before any game, and the upper deck is no more than half full......( that practice is not uncommon). I go to at least 7 of the 9 road B12 games each year, and outside of Allen ( and Hilton of course), the gyms are never more than 3/4 full....many half...

I'm hoping we have a strong ISU fan showing - a lot of things possibly in our favor for that:

Students still on break.
Students and other fans who would be in town, could still be out travelling to the playoff game that is 2 days prior.
The Thunder have a game in Charlotte, so maybe fans will stay home to watch both games.
It's OU, I'm not sure they know they have a top 5 basketball team.

I gotta good feelin'about this one, Burton goes off with 4 monster jams.

We will be there in head to toe Clones gear. OU(basketball) fans are nice, seats are cheap and there are no crowds. So, it's the opposite of a ku game.

I'm also looking at tickets right now. Heard it was a sellout. Not many options left. Stubhub has some decent prices for crappy seats, Ticketmaster is insane (and not many left), and there's only one listing for tickets on Craigslist.

If I do go I might be going with a group of 3-4.

Keep in mind their "crappy seats" are still not too shabby. Their arena holds around 11,000 so about 75% of the size of Hilton. It's a bowl like Carver Hawkeye.

We are heading down today - Staying in Moore. Any other suggestions of where some Cyclones might be hanging out Friday evening?

Jealous of you guys going to this game. It will be where we show whether we deserve all the attention we have been getting.

I've got a pair of tickets to sell for the TTU, TCU, and OU games. Prefer to sell them as a set. PM if interested. If we do well in Norman, I suspect that remaining tickets for home games will be hot items.

Our group will be out on Friday in Bricktown in OKC, they have a dueling piano bar down there that we will check out

Curious what everyone thought of the game and atmosphere. My thoughts:

1. Late arriving crowd.
2. Not much energy in the first half.
3. Go pretty loud towards the end when they took the lead.
4. The arena is like a small Carver Hawkeye but it was nice.
5. Decent fans although we had one lady behind us that would get really angry when we would cheer. At one point she said to us "you are a guest here". The rest were very friendly.

All in all it was a fun experience. I'd go back.
