Ok. Is this serious?

Wow! All of the sudden another hawk troll appears out of the blue. You've been a member since 2010 with 8 posts and 5 on this thread alone. What is this the 8th coming of yeahbuddy here?
I think it says 80 posts, but who gives a ****? I don't post a lot. I gave ISU a lot of credit in that post and said they should be picked to go further in the tournament. If it bothers you, don't read it.

ISU has a better resume at this point and should be picked to advance further, but its not impossible to build some kind of case for Iowa going further:

Head to head Iowa cruised to a fairly comfortable victory over ISU. It was at Carver, but Carver's not worth a 14 point advantage.

You guys have worse losses. I'll use KenPom rankings because its the easiest. Iowa's worst loss is to #11 Wisconsin. ISU has lost to #42 KSU, #45 Baylor, and #68 Arizona. In a tourney setting with upset minded mid majors everywhere, its hard to advance if you can't put away teams you're better than.

Iowa already won a tournament this year, ISU hasn't. And yeah, before you say - the tournament was full of nobodies - yes, I know. Iowa beat #54 Oregon and #76 UConn, nothing to brag about honestly. But again - your neutral site tourney loss was against #68 Arizona and you couldn't put them away.

Again, ISU has the better resume, ranking, KenPom rating and should be picked to go further. But Iowa's done some good things this year too. Just need a signature win or 2 to really have a nice looking resume.
ISU with Lard & Wigginton > ISU without them.

What does the tournament selection committee value more.... good wins, or “good losses” (lol).

The odds of Iowa making any sort of run in the dance are not great. They are simply not built to do that. Their major weaknesses are overall team athleticism and below average guard play. They also rely way too much on the whistle to score points and defensively they are average at best. That is not a recipe for long-term success in the dance. They could win a game....MAYBE 2, but it would be 100% dependent on favorable matchups (see Kansas State's Elite 8 run last year). Anything could happen in the dance obviously, but some teams are better equipped to make a run than others and Iowa is not one of those teams.

Probably not. Iowa's about the same and ISU has improved it seems. If they played again today, maybe it would be a different outcome. Edit: But ISU's bad luck scheduling is not Iowa's problem. Whether they play early or late, the results count all the same.

ISU improved because they have better players available.

I’m sorry but if you’re going to go to all this work of comparing teams you need to add in who’s been healthy and available too.

And what’s the point of bringing up a tournament if you then say “the tournament was full of nobodies.”

The problem with Iowa is they climbed on a B1G schedule where the teams they were playing weren’t good. If you have any hopes of a good March Iowa showing, they need to play better D.

Say what? I gave ISU alot of credit? Did I read your post wrong?

"Head to head Iowa cruised to a fairly comfortable victory over ISU."
"You guys have worse losses."
"Iowa already won a tournament this year, ISU hasn't."
"But again - your neutral site tourney loss was against #68 Arizona and you couldn't put them away."

You say we have worse losses and you use KenPom, your last paragraph says we have a better ranking due to KenPom? But if Iowa doesn't have a worse losses then, shouldn't they be ranked higher? You are talking out both sides of you mouth like a true troll. So really then the only true signature win was against Iowa State who did not have 3 veteran players, playing that game? Got it.

It's real I am sure. And I don't disagree with it...yet. They haven't beaten anyone worth a **** in the Big Ten. And they are losing by an average of 15 points a game in league play. But I could see them winning a game in the tourney. But I think they are destined for a 7/8/9/10 seed unless they start beating teams with a pulse.
How can you even let them in without solid key wins. Iowa has NIT 1 seed written all over them

Iowa does not have a lot to do to get in the NCAAs. The problem is that other than beating ISU they have lost to everyone that could be a signature win pretty soundly. They need to pick up a couple road wins against the non-cellar dwellers in the Big 10 and they will get in. Today would be a good time to start against a decent, but erratic Gopher team.

Won a tournament (with Oregon and UConn).

So, to match that ISU should have won one that had Duke and Gonzilla?

Any team that is decent that makes the tourney can make a run given they get the right bracket and teams they face...Atheltic teams with atheltic guards who play good D with a solid big man give Iowa all kinds of fits...But teams with avg at best guards and smaller teams Iowa can run on.

In the tourney it is entirely about match ups...One thing that generally translates in the tourney is defense...teams who play good defense and rebound can advance usually..

Iowa achieved a loss today at Minnesota, so perhaps they will be NIT bound. lol
