*** Official West Virginia vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Yeah they both played really well today. BRE was good attacking the rim, and making things hard on WV on def. Pav hit shots and saved our butt.

If Rob Jones somehow had one more year I’m pretty sure he’d be on most hated list of other Big 12 teams. Today he was just getting every loose ball and outrunning every WVU big man pretty severely.

Objectively ZRF’s posts are garbage. He’s out of his league here and should get zero ability to post. He’s in over his head here and needs to go down a level, like the KU board. If you disagree with me you’re a homer because I have advanced stats on my side.

Worthless, pathetic and the WORST but what's negative about saying that!?

I’m pretty sure a KC Chiefs fan could have had all the same kinds of opinions every playoff game and in the Superbowl win. It’s just bizarre to find any small thing that isn’t at perfect all time great status and freak out about it.

Missed the game due to travel. Listened to Eric and John for maybe the last 4 min or so.

We played like ass for us for 3/4ths of the game. Foul trouble didn’t help. Weird game but found a way again led by defense. Did I miss anything?
ISU bigs struggled with the 2-3 zone. ISU had 24 points in the paint vs WVU’s 22. WVU also shot over 40% from behind the arc

Didn't we go up in KenPom after the Houston loss? It would be funny trying to explain analytics to someone 25 years ago.
It's kind of weird to me that it seems to place such little value on categorically winning the game.

His fast break bucket was a thing of beauty. The work he’s put in to become the player he is this year—truly remarkable.

This stat was tell-tale. We struggle with zone. It was that way in Waco if you recall, and we somehow climbed out of it after the Drew ejection.

A little bit. We moved up to 8th from 9th, and moved up a few spots on offense but it feels like we'd been bouncing between 8-9 depending on how other games went for awhile.

Not trying to pick on the kid. I think with another offseason of conditioning his body he could be a solid Big 12 guard next season. I love his handles and his offensive game. He's only a Sophomore and can only improve. Defensively he really shouldn't be out there any more than he currently is.
You say if Pav plays extensively we will lose the game, but you're not trying to pick on the kid. Sure sounded like it to me. Well, he played 16 minutes, scored 9 points, and had a very solid all around game. And thank goodness he did. So yeah, he was just awful today.

Hey gang. Game was my fault. First game I made it to this year. Didn't hit Tip Top before the game. Didn't wear lucky shirt. Totally ****** up.

Learned my lesson. Glad it didn't cost us.

I'll have my A game for the tourney.

Sorry again. I will do penalty shots in a bit. I suck.

Well ****, posted in wrong thread too.

Also imagine if we had this same result but a couple key players were out sick. In that scenario a 7 point win with the mandatory last minute meaningless 3 is a fantastic result.

I’m sure fans in lower Group of 3 conferences (SEC, ACC, Big Ten) are used to this because they have a lot of teams ranked as low as WVU is. For us it’s weird with almost every team top 35.
