Had chances to steal 3 points but in the end getting a result was massive there. Especially with Honduras drawing Panama. Let’s beat Panama and put this to bed.
Win vs Panama and CR loss/draw Sunday will guarantee Top3.
Win vs Panama and CR Win Sunday will guarantee Top4. USA will also have to avoid losing by more than 2-4 goals against CR in the final game Wednesday depending on how goal differential shakes out.

Won't even a draw against Panama guarantee a top 4 finish?
You can't be mad about a draw in Azteca, but hell they should of won that game. Mexico had a couple of chances from distance, the US had two point blank.
A draw with Panama guarantees us top 4. No matter what - unless goal differential does not matter.
We'd have 23, they'd have 20. Even if they win they're last match - we currently are +9 goal differential, they are +1, Costa Rica is +2. We'd have to get blased against Costa Rica and they'd have to score a crazy amount, basically 5-0 vs both Us and Honduras to have better goal differential.
Obviously Costa Rica winning both remaining matches pushes us to 4th place but we are in some sort of qualifying based on points and goal differential. We have 6 wins, a draw versus us the and the maximum that Panama can get to would be 6 wins... and again, we have goal differential on our side.

Man, all I can say is I really hope he take care of Panama and qualify because presuming McKennie comes back in form from injury and we don't lose anyone...
we're deep, we're young and could be a very, very dangerous out in the World Cup, provided we take care of business. We have two very quality keepers, a defense that is starting to look more stable and we didn't even have Dest, an incredible abundance of talent in midfield and a attack that needs to improve sure but also has plenty of quality there as well.
If we qualify I'm not going to predict a US victory but this team has more pieces it would seem than even the Dempsey era teams.

WC experience is important. That’s why you see teams like Portugal have success in big tournaments with mid-30’s guys. Italy in the past had success with older teams. I don’t think we have anyone with WC experience right now. Yedlin was on the 2014 squad but not sure if he played.
Very true but there is also a chance of being young, dumb and extremely talented. Its why I don't think we probably win but honestly, I would be disapponted if we didn't advance to the knock out stage. I think at that point experience matters more but we won the Gold Cup, Nations League or whatever its called anymore - beating Mexico twice over the summer and now likely qualifying . So I think we have enough experience to get past the opening stage although...
the opponent draw, and luck and injuries, etc - play a big role in that as well.
