***Official Texas Tech prediction thread***

I think IF ISU can have the T.O.P. that we had against Texas we win by 10. If TTU can stop our running game - cleaning gutters by noon.

ISU 34 - TTU 31

Well......we have found a way to lose to 3 not so good teams...I say we lose again. What can go wrong? a lot. We will find a way.....we need to be more than 10 points better than TT to win in Lubbock and we are not this year. Wish we had that kid that beat them and TCU and Okie St. on the team available to share duties at quarterback.......but we don't because our coaching staff is so innovative and far-sighted. Why hasn't a second quarterback taken a snap this year.....no dis on Sam, just that I think that this is smart coaching. Ohio State does it. Northwestern does it. We'll see Sam hobble the same old zone read until he can't do it....coach will say something about the team needing "life"....then we will put in the backup when he is hurt and complain about him being young and inexperienced. Butt Hurt cycle. I'm out.

I'll take Tech 30, ISU 21.

We aren't as dangerous offensively as we were in many of the Leach years - mostly due to our QB situation and an o-line that needs some help, but that is offset by our defense playing better than it has in a long time. I have faith that Tech's defense will be able to hold your team down enough for Tech to pull out a win in what I expect to be a tough, hard-fought game.

Since this time last year we are 3-9. We are struggling to score more than 3 TDs per game this year. This could get ugly.

Hopefully CPR can find away to pull another turnover miracle win game.

I think this team is poised to come out and build off the offensive performance last week, and finally start to show consistency as a unit in terms of moving the ball, and scoring points each week. With that said, being so young, I do fear we get a taste of the old medicine and tech wins 34-17.

The homer in me says Richardson continue to chuck it for 250ish, and the WR group continues to have new faces emerge and pull out a close one...or lose in heartbreaking fashion again. But I would certainly settle for an unexpected blowout win over those guys again. I go no clue on even making a prediction here.

You say some pretty dumb things a lot of the time, but wishing for Jared Barnett after seeing a few games with Sam Richardson really takes the cake.

Well, since giving up 36 points is not good, I don't see the sense in it. It also only works because OK got 35 points and many teams got 31. Bottom line, you give up 30 points, it's bad most of the time. So, drawing the line at 36 is not really something to hang your hat on.

Might want to think this through for a moment. Giving up less then 36 points per game in the Big XII is pretty solid defense considering most Big XII offenses average more then 36 points per game. Why don't you go back and check out how many points those teams were averaging per game and then see how far ISU held them below their average.

Why would I do that? It's ridiculous to think that not giving up 36 points (but giving up 30 in a lot of the games) means anything. You can check if you want - be my guest.

To put that in perspective for you... Last season ISU allowed no teams to score 36 points or more. The other 9 Big XII defenses allowed 36 points or more a total of 42 times last season. West Virginia 8 times, Kansas 6 times, Texas 5 times, Tech 5 times, Okie State 5 times, Baylor 6 times, TCU 4 times, Oklahoma 2 times, and K-State 1 time.

It's a stupid stat and anyone trying to say its some sign of a good defense is ridiculous. So if a team gives up 35 points every game for 10 years but never gives up 36 does that make their defense really good?
