***official Texas postgame thread***

would like to thank the womens and mens teams for the great showing this year in KC..
Maybe next time the men will get more fans down there to support them so the can pull out a win so the 7 year drought would be over.
welcome to the 8/9 game.

I am Glad to be in the tourney, but come on guys.....wow....

Did you not see how many ISU fans where at the Sprint Center? You're a complete *********. MU, KU, KSU are all within 2 hours and they can't touch our support. All business' in KC are upset by this, yet you sit in Bondurant and claim to know what's going on.

I havnt read through any of this thread so maybe it has already been mentioned. I usually disagree with people that question the coaching staff, but i dont understand why we didnt go "big"? It seems like we are playing a defensive matchup to try and stop texas rather than trying to force them to play our game. i realize that our game usually isnt to pound it down inside, but when gibson was in we were having our way down low. 2 big guys in there seemed to be the way to score. why not make them try to match up to us on the offensive end?

Don't blame it on the refs. We played like ****, plain and simple. Too many turnovers and gave up too many o-rebounds.
Really? The refs called key fouls in the first half that resulted in three people havbng to sit down and makeshift team. In the second half, Royce may have been called for 4 fouls. When they drove down the lane and we were opkanted properly, it was a foul. We were hacked on several shots and no fouls were called on UT. Yes, you play through fouls, but the UT refs stunk the joint up. Lets see how they call the fouls on MO or UT tomorrow or even if DeRosa refs again.

Right. I think it's pretty obvious how our next opponent will D up against us. They will guard the perimeter and take away the 3 ball. We will need find another way to score buckets and Percy is the answer.

Why is it whenever people start talking about Iowa State, we lose? Are we just immune to success?

People watch this game and say "Well, it's Iowa State. No surprise they lost."

Just looking at the play-by-play...after we went up 11, not including 2 turnovers where they didn't get a shot off, Texas scored on 13 straight possessions..and scored 30 points in that stretch. thats just crazy.

Wow. Are ISU fans really as pathetic as most of these posts indicate? I'm disappointed, too, but man, you people are flat out embarassing! Great season, horrible game. Not how I wanted to see it go and sucks to travel all the way to KC to witness this kind of effort. But really? Move on ...

It was that bad. Toss in a first round ncaa tourney loss, and the good season is rendered meanless.

horrible shot selection in the second half, no crashing the boards. Why is it we throw up a hail mary 3 and RUSH to defense?

Texas needed that win, we didn't. Simple as that. Step away from the ledge, we have a far more important game coming up next week.
Bull ******* ****. If our guys think that we don't need to win ANY game then I'm done being a Cyclone. You approach every game like it is a must win so don't tell me that we didn't need this win.

I don't disagree that they should have that mindset, but the simple fact is that loss doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. We're a tourney lock already, and we'd have needed at least a second win in KC to have an impact on our seeding. Texas was on the bubble, with that win they are in the big dance. Mentality aside, desperation is a powerful motivator whether you like it or not.

Yeah, a tourney championship doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things....Having a chance to beat Mizzery before they leave the conference doesn't matter in the scheme of things....Having a chance to beat or play KU again in Kansas City....

I am still unbelievably angry this morning. I'm tired of this team playing so hot and cold. I honestly just wish basketball season was over now.

Seriously? This seems a bit much. If you want it over, stop posting and don't watch the games. IT CAN BE OVER FOR YOU :)

I'm sad b/c I have enjoyed the season and want as many games as possible.

Just let me vent. I didn't do it last night.

Fair enough :)

I suppose I am the girl that stomped around and yelled for a whole minute last night EVEN though I said all week that I hated this matchup and I said all week that no matter what happens there would be another week of basketball.

A couple things.

I think we're a good, not great, team and this sort of proved it.

(2) All the people that wanted to play Texas instead of KSU are:goofy:.

These kinds of statements make me tired. Glad you know how to out-coach the Big 12 COY!

It doesn't really matter how I would do coaching against CFH, it matters how CFH coaches against his opponent. CFH wasn't able to counter Barnes' strategy, and ISU lost.

The disturbing thing is, Texas isn't on the same level athletically or basketball wise. Not right now. And they beat our guys twice.

Regarding the bolded part, you are correct. On the whole, UT is better athletically than ISU, and it showed last night. They locked down on ISU's three point shooters, and crashed the boards. UT got 16 offensive rebounds.
