***Official Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread***

Kraken flyin'. 4-1 in early 2nd period. Looks like heading for a Game 7.

Crazy how fast expansion teams can find success in the NHL. Vegas a few years ago came out right away and has been a constant contender and now the Kraken.

They usually get good players with ****** contracts, so it easy to build up quick. And then add the "my team didnt want me" chip on each players shoulder.

Not sure why they are starting the game so late tonight. No other hockey or NBA game being played tonight.

Expansion draft rules in the NHL really help a team develop a team right away. It isn't like they're going out and trying to build a team from scratch via free agency.

I'm used to the nba way were a team had to leave unprotected players but usually every team would leave the bottom of the bench players available so getting any good players was impossible.

I also think it's relatively cheaper for billionaire owners to land a few whales than it is in other sports. Like the dollar figures for stars are like mid tier guys in other sports.

TBF the NBA hasn't expanded at this point for more than 20 years, and all this is hypothetical but who knows what the rules for expansion and how competitive teams would be under the next expansion.

Then again, with exceptions, it seems like anymore NBA players don't want to play for teams not in LA, NY, or Miami.
