Nothing better than to first congratulate Monte, Naz, and Matt on going to the NCAA Tournament all four years of their career!! Thanks for all the memories, excitement you've brought CycloneNation, and beyond. Deonte, one of our most unique players to have played here, congrats! Bowie, and Holden have to be tickled to be going to the NCAA tournament. Not sure if either of them have gone before.
On a side note: while this thread is about this year and these seniors, my mind keeps wandering to the thought of who will carry the torch going forward. Yes, we'll see more good players come and go, but who will be better ambassadors of CycloneNation than Niang and Naz have been? Monte and Matt, too. So connected, positive, vocal, proud, humble, appreciative of their time here. Most of all, LEADERS on and off the floor. I really do believe they treasure playing for the name on the front of their jersey. Stinson, Tinsley, Fizer, ....just to name a few were stars here, but did they embrace playing here and have the connection to the degree these guys have had? I suppose they did. I've probably just forgotten and the present guys are easier to keep in view. Guess I should trust that its not just their character and personalities but the environment and program support that future ISU players will embrace as well. Feels weird to say that we will not have any four-year Cyclone players on the team next year. Donovan and Nick are our upperclassman. Can they LEAD a roster of young pups?
