TCUs play in opponent has to fly across the country and then come back and play them.
Yeah that 11 seed play in would have probably been better than Iowa St's. And Iowa St technically got the best 6 seed.

I like our draw. Get a little chip on the shoulder with the 6 and I’d rather play either Pitt or MSU than VCU like St Mary’s got.

ISU is better served with a break, and they can look at film for both teams, the teams cannot look at ISU until after Tuesday.
ISU is a very unique team to play, if you don't have time to prepare you will turn the ball over a lot most likely
There is a whole season of Tape to Watch :-) , teams know exactly what they are getting. ISU has been rocked by lower seeds multiple times. In this case they will be coming in with a recent live Ncaa game practice vs us playing the scout team.

I ******* love this mindset. Let's just forget that these two teams won't have time to prepare for us. Let's be upset about a reason to be glum about Iowa State. JFC
Had this exact thought. People realize they also won’t have time to scout us, right? And will prioritize scouting their first opponent whereas we can look at both.

Mississippi State is coached by Chris Jans who is from Iowa. He’s a pretty slimy coach.

I'm more concerned with how we match up with Xavier. They will stand between us and the Sweet 16.

I think we have a relatively easy route to the second weekend, but a much less likely chance of advancing past that. Playing Texas in the S16 in KC…doesn’t sound like much fun.

It’s not a horrible draw at all. It’s also not a perfect draw. Last year we played two teams with completely different styles back to back. I’m not worried about playing either styles. If we play well we will win.

I’d also rather have gotten a play in game vs two P5 teams than Charleston in Greensboro, Drake or Oral Roberts.

All in all, decent draw!
