It would be such bull crap if Iowa got placed in DM with that crappy resume

Eh, let it happen. I wouldn't like ISU playing there.

If they lose in the first round we can sit back and enjoy the post-game Haydenism.

Agreed. The frosted tips still give me PTSD. That team had 7 freaking NBA players on it. That loss was inexcusable and p***Ed me off for the whole rest of the tournament.

Yeah; I literally could not watch basketball for the rest of that day. Thankfully, being a dual ISU/UNI fan was my salvation that year; UNI was a 5 seed that year and won their first round game the next day. If they had lost that in the classic 12 over 5 upset I don't think I could have watched another game for the next three weeks.

Not trying to knock our guys, but this year's team is much closer in "talent" to a mid major, than most power 6 teams. There's no draftable players on this roster right now.
We are not closer to a mid-major talent wise. If we were, there'd be absolutely no way we'd even sniff any post season play, NCAA or NIT, playing in the toughest conference.

Mid-majors don't beat KU, Texas, KState, TCU and Baylor (3 times) in a season.

Just curious, which mid-major team out there in your opinion would've duplicated ISU's season in the Big XII?

They deserve to get in IMO.

I've been having a hard time with Lunardi having them miss the cut and putting them in the same category as other bubble teams like Wisconsin.

If the Big XII is the best conference this season, (it is) then OSU should get the nod over other bubble teams.

I think they'll get in.
Not just Lunardi. On Bracket Matrix only 23 of 83 brackets have them in. Their last team in, Pitt, has 51.

TJ is a helluva coach. Lol.
I'm not saying they are mid major talent level. I'm saying they're built more like a mid major. No single highly talented player, or a few high scoring players that will outscore a team. They're a hard nosed, defense oriented team, that slows tempo and forces turnovers.

Biggest thing with the brackets for ISU is that I don't want the 11:00 game on Thursday. It seems like we and other teams have come out flat in that slot way too often.
Early games bad if you are the favorite. You want to play later after a couple upsets, gets your guys focused after seeing someone else get upset.

Super late night games are upset times too, just cuz its late and weird.

Keep in mind VCU PG is Jayden Nunn who we basically said thanks but no thanks after offering him a scholarship when TJ arrived..Bc we wanted T Hunter...

Of all the mid major teams VCU presses and plays legit D. Their offense isn't good.

But for ISU we need teams in our bracket early who aren't the best on D and don't pressure you all game.

Them vs Houston would be my favorite for the title right now but that’s only if Sasser is healthy
What an awful time for that injury. Doesn't seem serious but if he's not healthy in a week a team like Arkansas or West Virginia could beat them

No kidding and what bad luck to have a groin injury. That will stay around for a while.

Here's my predictions:

Bama overall #1, then Kansas, then Purdue and then Texas. Yes Texas as a 1, assuming Houston continues to get their ass kicked. With a Houston loss and a UCLA loss last night it opens the door for Texas who has been playing really well.
