***Official Postgame Toledo Thread***

Bright spots:
1. We won time of possession 38 to 22
2. We had 481 yards of offense vs. 309 for Toledo
3. We had a 100 yard rusher in Mike Warren

Too bad we had 14 penalties for 113 yards.

And someone in the other thread wanted to hang this L on the players. Those penalties were discipline issues, mostly. That's on coaching.

The coaches may not make it past this season but it's hilarious what we blame on them. Fumble inside the 20? Coaches fault. Miss a 32 yard field goal? Coaches fault. Take a sack on 4th down with the game on the line? Coaches fault.

When end do the players share some of the blame?

Oh, here they are. You obviously can't put everything on the coaches 100%. Point me in the direction where that is what is being said. Please?

The idea is that the players had so many mistakes because of poor coaching. I mean, the player stats looked pretty good besides the penalties. I would definitely say some of the blame for the missed FG is on CPR and the false starts, etc. are disciplinary issues which stem from poor coaching. Beyond that, if someone like Cotton hasn't been recruited over in 4 classes that shows an issue there, too.

It has gotten so bad I may wind up rooting for Iowa this year. It's refreshing to see a time play hard and smart and with a purpose.
Dude no. Stop.
Here's a positive.... We made another team rush the field by beating us. We must be good right?

has it ever happened before?

On the missed fg, he should have been kicking from the center of the field instead of the left hash. I blame the last play on the o line, they failed to block the guy who tackled Sam twice.

It's a 32 yard FG (after a false start penalty)?!? Now those have to be centered?

ISU is 6-21 over the last 3 season (including 2 losses to FCS teams).

Coaches certainly deserve blame. But they players were put in positions to win the game tonight. And they failed. That's on both the coaches and the players. But the coaches can't execute a 32 yard FG.

We need rock solid seniors leading this team for Iowa State to have a special season. Instead we have guys like Dagel getting beat like a drum or false starting. We're playing Cotton major minutes and Boesen is our best tight end. Sam Richardson is our best option at QB.

Paul can't blame a decimated O-line this year and the loss of almost every talented d-lineman over the years is squarely on Paul too. Messingham should have never been hired as offensive coordinator. Paul has passion and leadership qualities, but he's not leading us in the right direction.

I mean. What are you wanting to be said, exactly? We get it - the players share the blame.

What's next?

How bout we call a spade a spade. Our football team sucks, coaches, players, all of it. I bet we have the worst water boy in D1

I, for one, like the consistency CPR is bringing to our program. In 2013 we had 3 wins, last year we had 2 wins, this year we can get 1 win, and then 0 next year. And then somehow we have to find a way to win -1 games in 2017, but I feel confident in our program to accomplish that, if anyone can do it we can.

Honestly, it shouldn't even have to come down to a 32 yard FG attempt to beat a MAC team with a P5 program and a coaching staff in it's 7th year.

BULL****.

For whatever reason, you seem to be the only person on this site that does not understand the conceptual reason as to why the coaches blew the opportunity to win the game on that final FG.
