So the fact that his numbers are improving as the season goes on and the opponent gets better means nothing to you.

You're looking at 5 games. The talent should have been eaiser earlier in the season. I just think he will be an 8/6 guy. Brackins numbers have gone down this season and he should be taking over games. I just don't see why he would develop a better inside presence than CB and we would run more of our offense through him to get the numbers you think. Just my opinion, he has the tools to do it I don't think it will happen.

What does one game a season prove? Iowa has beat ranked teams the past few years, what has it got them, besides the abality to say we beat a ranked team. I do feel when this team beats a ranked team it will help right the ship.

If nothing else I would like to say we beat a ranked oppent I guess. We can't brag to much otherwise.

Ham has much better endurance now, runs the court well, moves, take charges, and has decided to fight for rebounds. He is greatly improved and has the feel for conference.

Brackins is down 3 pts and 1 rebound a game, from last year. He has also lost 2 good 3pt shooters from last year that took double teams away from him, plus adding MG to the team has allowed the team to go to someone besides CB. In younger players they start to "get it" at some point and to me is looks like Ham is starting to "get it". Players do improve as a season goes on.

Hamilton didn't play much in the non-conference season for many reasons, primarily:

1) There were many more players on the teams and playing
2) A lot of those teams didn't have a real center and he doesn't match up well against an athletic 6'7" player.

Brackin's numbers are down because he is being doubled or tripled every time he touches the ball. I will be VERY pleased if Hamilton ever gets to the point where he is doubled every time.

I am not arguing any of that or his hustle. I have doubts that he will be a 15/10 guy. Most of that has to do with what I have seen of player development in the last 4 years. IMO he will be a 8/6 guy. He would have to almost triple his production from this years to get those numbers. Like I said, we'll know for sure in 2 years.

Ham will have those problems again next year and the year after. Not matter how, Cb's numbers are down. Whether they are justified or not they are. DG, CC, whoever could take points away from Ham next year. To avg 15/10 you have to have nights where you go 25/15 and I don't see that coming form Ham.

All I have to say is that this is not what I envisioned for this year at the beginning of the season... I don't think that ANYONE had ISU winning only 2 conference games at this point.... and we barely escaped with those wins. Not a great season, but there have been flashes of promise. I think that we lose the rest of the regular season games... win the Big 12 tourney and then burst into the final four.... :notworthy:

I'll take it!

Hey Chris Williams, can you ask McDermott on why is is that his teams at Iowa State always give up a big run to the other team and why his team can not do a 15-20-0 run....

Thanx from a very frustrated fan

also ask why Scotty was guarding Collins at the end of the 1st half when everyone knew he was going to run the clock down and drive. why not put Diante or Colvin on him then. might have been the easiest layup in basketball history.

I wondered about that also. We have a habit of making it tough on ourselves.

GO CLONES, i work with an oklahoma state grad and all he does is talk **** and is cocky as hell so i will be there rooting my brains out for ISU and am hoping i can walk into the office with a smile on my face.
