***Official Post Game Thread***

21-3 run with only one timeout.......? Once again they adjusted......and we get a deer in the headlights look. I saw a game with Syracuse a few weeks ago, and even though they were ahead, when the other team slapped on the press, Boehiem called a timeout right away. We didn't get one until KU had slapped up 9 points......and then didn't even call one during the next 12-3 run. It's bad enough not to do this with a full compliment of players.....but to let it run like this with a depleted squad....against the #1 team in the land on their home court....?:confused: Use them all!! Stop the run and give the guys a chance. If it doesn't work, fine. But at least you did all you could. Because regardless, they do no good with a couple of minutes left when you are down by 20!


And before anyone here blubbers about me knit-picking......this isn't the first time the use of timeouts have been somewhat puzzling this season.

Doesn't the fact that the timeout was followed by the run continuing prove that a timeout doesn't magically stop a run?

The emphasis given to timeouts by some fans baffles me.

Bad fan? Do you accept mediocrity? I buy season tickets to M bball, Football, go to alot of the wrestiling meets and looking to get season tickets to the W bball next year, I am a fan, do you spend the money that I do towards the athletic dept? If you do, you can ***** like me.

It baffles our coach to......so you are in good company.

Haha. I don't get all the people complaining about calling timeouts. Like bawbie said, it's not like when we call a TO, the other team isn't allowed to score for 2 min. They were making contested shots, Kansas is good, not a whole lot we can do about that.
 
One thing I would like to see now that we have this short, short bench is more timeouts just to let players get a breather. Craig, Ham, Strap, and DG played a ton of minutes. Chances are we are going to lose by double digits so lets just take timeouts so we have some legs at the end of the game.
 
Once again, ISU does better than most people's expectations and people are still on here ******** about how this team plays and how McDermott coaches. Unbelieveable.

KU is good. I'm not that upset that we lost to them in the Phog, but I am upset that we are 13-12 with a 2-8 conference record.

We have some winnable games coming up. If we don't win 4 (or at the very least 3) of them, I see nothing from Gmac that would make me want to keep him as our coach.

Looking at the court after DG 2nd turnover demanded a timeout. None was called.

Nobody was in place. KU was all over the floor. Things were a huge rush for the crowed. Most coaches in the US coaches have called a timeout. Greg did not.


Anyone on this thread would have let the team play through to 9-0 run?
 
not going to beat a team like Kansas with seven players. Oh well get used to it I guess. Got to get better on not letting teams go on big runs.

We werent going to come close to beating KU with all of the players that we had on the roster at the beginning of the year.

Thanks for the link; it doesn't appear that Dendy and Gmac talk with each other too much. That's weird, and concerning.
