I'll either be ridiculed or ignored for saying this, but it's hard to say we're bad when they came from as far behind as they did. Don't get me wrong, the way this game was lost is disappointing and frustrating, but at least they were able to get to a position where they could make that mistake. It was more than I was expecting given where the score was about halfway through the first half.
Missed freethrows having nothing to do with it. Technical fouls usually cause the momentum to trend one way or the other. Look at the how this game went after the technical...it speaks for itself.
Do you really think that T is the reason ISU lost that game? You must really hate the coach.
Whatever you need to say to justify the point that Macs T which people have been calling for in some way cost us the game. It cost no points, it got the crowd excited and then we ****** the game away. That T in no way cost us the game but I suppose since it is one very easy thing to crucify Mac for, that will be it. I'm defending the way the game was coached but I will defend that particular segment of the game.
I would argue that our talent is not a long way past .500. We may not have a NBA player on this team right now. We also have 4 pretty key guys who are playing their first Big 12 season. Craig Brackins, as great of a Cyclone as he is, doesn't show up when we need him.
I thought the technical was the right move. Im saying the way our team plays is his ****** coaching.
The T was NOT the reason we lost but it was taken at a bad time. We had all the momentum going for us.
Granted the refs were horrible, but the message needed to be sent early on in the game when OSU was building their lead. It didn't need to be a T either. Pulling all the starters or doing something to prevent a 20 point lead from being built.
Team to me looked like they spent all their energy climbing back into the game and at the end ran out of gas
What was Mac to do. Stand there and allow his team to be hacked? He had had enough of getting ****ed by the refs.
I never said it COST us the game. It's not the SOUL reason we lost. It was a turning point in the game. I've often watched games and wished McD was get T'd up. This was usually when we were done 10 or so and just getting out physicaled. By all accounts, in this point of the game things were going well. The refs missed a call, and had missed a few calls, but as I coach I think you need to pick your spots on the technical. He picked a weird spot, and I think it costs us momentum. I am not one that systematicaly complains about all things McD, but I disagree with the timing of the technical (although it looked like a bit of a weak T, quick trigger by the ref). All I am saying is it shifted the momentum. Look at the gamecase, the T happened at 10:29 left in the 2nd half.

Then people would be ****** he did nothing. I bet it would be the same people that are ****** he took the T. Mac is a no win situation. I think some people would be ****** because he drinks coke not pepsi.
Exactly. That was just a weird time to get your first T of the year. There had been many times where the team had been getting hacked, and many times where the team need a big spark (the first half of the home KU game comes to mind, particularly the no-call when Dendy got shoved going up for the dunk). Weird of him to do nothing then, but decide tonight, with a lead, was the time to give a ref an earful.
No they wouldn't because people love to complain about the refs.....i agree mac is in a no win situation....but he has helped put himself into that situation

And I disagree, about the T, although I will agree that it looked rather weak. McD just decided to get his money's worth afterwards.
I'm not convinced we have over .500 talent. Some of the positively dumb**** things that these players do tells me they aren't nearly as good as we thought they were.
