I've been looking at Highway 30 cameras (permanent and on trucks) between CR and Ames and there is not much if any truly "covered" until you are right around CR, however they suggest it isn't advisable the whole way. Are we talking black ice here or what is the deal and is anyone traveling that road likely to not make it? Or is the drifting going to start soon, I guess I don't know exactly what the problem is. I've driven that stretch of road probably close to 1800 times in the past 26 years and I've seen MUCH worse.Even if the plane lands in DSM, they have to get to Ames. 511 has both 35 and 69 as travel not advised.
I believe someone said it is a 737 they are chartering. Ames not big enough for that. Why would they fly to Des Moines when there's an airport in Ames?
Does anyone know when they have/will land?

if they land in DSM, they'll playIf they get to Des Moines (flight-tracker says it's leaving Oklahoma soon), I'd hope we play today, a shame to go to that travel trouble and then not even play.
Can stillwater handle big planes? Not sure on thatI apologize for my ignorance, but why would they fly out of OKC when there is an airport in Stillwater?
The winds and temperatures make for a dangerous situation. If they get to Des Moines I'd bet they get a plow escort.Only issue for the flight would be visibility at landing. As long as they have the minimums, shouldnt be a problem.
The bus ride to Ames is probably the one more likely to stop them-if they end up in a ditch or stuck in a pile up or something like that.
Probably will be a longer trip time than normal for sure.
