***Official NDSU @ ISU Prediction thread***

I really think the staff is focused on this game and getting the season off to a good start. I say that because there would be some seasons where Iowa and KSU is coming up that game week leading up to NDSU (or UNI) would be more about the next game than the FCS opponent. I get the impression that ISU will be preparing for NDS.

So, I hope and believe we win this game by 14

ISU 35
NDSU 21

Lots of talk about OL and DL and affect on game and rightly so. Sense is that Offense could be anywhere from average to really good depending on SR progress. Defense will be gritty but is pretty young. 1 bonehead play for every 2 spectacular plays.

I think ISU continues to show progress in special teams play and that is difference in this game with poor NDSU field position, a couple of longer field goals and a return for 6.

ISU 27
NDSU 13

Game is one week away!

Close in the first half, ISU opens it up in the second half. The youth on NDSU's offensive line and ISU holds NDSU to less than 150 yards rushing. ISU 34-17.

45-9 ISU 3 field goals for NDSU.

35-31 ISU is what I think
45-24 ISU is what I feel

I have a feeling that we are worrying way to much about this game but I am still worried about it.

I already gave my prediction of 24-20, but I just wanted to add one thing.

I think this game will all come down to ISU's defense. As will a lot of games this year probably. If we can hold NDSU to 3 TDs (21 pts) or less, we will win IMO.

If we can't put up more than 21 pts against an FCS opponent, then it's going to be a REALLY long year for this team. I know we're learning a whole new offense and will likely get better from week to week, but it will be a really bad sign if we can't put up some points on this team IMO.

We havent played a good first game for many years...until we start, I will not predict a win.

We lose.

Tulsa 2 years ago was a good first game, as was Northern Illinois 4 years ago and NDSU 5 years ago. Other then UNI, CPR has fared well in first games.

I hope Mangino talks to CPR about scoring many TDs on inferior opponents and runs up the score any chance possible.
