Official Monte Morris is a Baller thread

Monte played a great game tonight. I remember when there were doubters. So I went back to find this old thread. Generally I told my son, ISU is so good because of the recruits Hoiberg is bringing in. What a cast he has assembled this year, we are very fortunate!

Monte is everything Chris Colvin thought he was. Loved his play today and all season. Feel good about the point guard position for the foreseeable future.

He is good, real good. Can shoot from many different positions. Smooth. Slippery. Can jump.

That's pretty true, I think. I got the impression that Monte might not have been thrilled that Iowa State went out and got a transfer PG last year, but I think that he is really going to appreciate it in a few years. It is nice that he isn't expected to do everything and yet he is playing a really big role on a good team.

The guy doesn't seem to ever get rattled or go too fast. He's smooth, plays within his abilities and just makes great decisions without trying to always make a highlight type of play. So excited for his future and career at ISU.

It's pretty incredible thinking about how good we are this year and if we get Vaughn, just how good we could be next year.

He is going to be very special player for ISU. A true PG that we haven't had in years.

Morris has had a few really nice, quick moves to the hoop the last few games he wasn't doing at the beginning of the season.

He's also already way more comfortable and calm out there then at the beginning as well. Today he got a def rebound right under the hoop and at first looked like he wanted to get rid of it, but instead just held on waited for the defense to start moving down the floor. Earlier I feel like he would have tried a riskier pass to get the ball out.

Been saying it since the beginning, he's going to be a stud. For as skinny as he is, he uses his body well in the paint.

Monte is the man. ISU's backcourt future looks very, very bright with Morris, Thomas, Naz, and SDW.

Monte Morris really thrives with our style of offense. He will continue to get better. Georges Niang, and Monte Morris are going to be REALLY, REALLY good players these next few years here. Niang has already established greatness..

The two things that I think are the most important for Monte so far: 1. The kid does not turn the ball over, 9 turnovers in 13 games, hell I felt like Korie had 9 in a game a few times. 2. Am I the only one who thinks he looks exactly like Lebron in the face?

I've been pleasantly surprised by how well he has taken the ball to the basket against bigs. He either makes the shot or gets a foul . . . or both like yesterday.
