Didn't see one yet so starting a thread. Are with witnessing the start of possibly the greatest QB career in NFL history? After years of watching the Chiefs be mediocre I have a new swagger with Mahomes being able to make big plays when needed. He makes it look too easy at times.

I'll agree on making it look easy. I felt like they were just toying with the Ravens today. It ended up being a 5 point game, but it never felt in doubt after the 2nd quarter.

If the Chiefs don't make the Super Bowl this year, how many more season do you think KC will stick with Reid without a SB appearance?

a long time....their main competition will be gone in a couple years (Patriots). I don't know of any other team in the AFC who will challenge them after that.

Chargers will decline when Rivers is gone. Luck leaving the Colts is a big blow for them. I don't see the Texans making that leap but Watson is pretty good.

Mahomes is due for a huge payday soon. How will that effect the Chiefs in building a team around him? They should be fine, the AFC looks to be down in a couple years.

All I'm saying is Reid has a reputation of not being able to get over the hump. Chiefs should have went to the SB last year. If they don't make it this year, especially with all the changes on defense, I think fans will start to get impatient.

AFC West looks like a cakewalk this year (so far). Chargers were supposed to be a threat again but off to a 1-2 start is bad. Three games into the season and the Chiefs already have a two game lead over all other division foes.

They still have holes on defense that will be the reason if they dont make the SB this year. Just look at last year, they should have beat the Pats if it was not for their crappy defense. Defense is somewhat improved this year but still is pretty rough at CB.

They should have? The fact you suggest that is a testament to Reid being better than all but Belichick.
 
The AFC looks like the Pats and Chiefs in their own class above everyone else. I think KC's defense is still very suspect but I'm also not sure how much it matters since it's such a short list of teams with the offensive firepower to keep pace with Mahomes.

No more injuries. Offense just keeps going even without at least 3 starters.

Firing Andy Reid if the they don't make the Super Bowl this year would be the greatest gift the Chiefs could give to the rest of the AFC. What an insanely shortsighted move that would be.

I didn't say anything about firing him after this season. You have a young, mvp quarterback and a coach known for coming up short in the playoffs. How many seasons without getting to the SB are you going to give him?

This is Mahomes 2nd year as a starter.

If they maintain a top 2 seed in the conference, he won't be going anywhere.

I'm not a Chiefs fan so I don't really care what they do. For those of you that are fans I'll wait to see what your reactions are if you come up short at home in the playoffs.
