holy student turn out. I haven't seen that many students at the game in a long time

Really helps a week night game that classes just started and they don't have as much work.

Thought Babb did a nice job on free throws down the stretch. Ejim was awesome and two of his fouls were extreme BS. Did a lot of the rebounding by himself.

Don't understand the criticism of CFH on the timeouts. I thought we were darn fortunate we had them down the stretch to get the ball over halfcourt and also to get our act together on what to do on the last possession. Also thought Huggy Bear would have benefited if he had some left at the end.

Why? I love to see a guy be cocky, especially if he can back it up

A little swagger is ok in my book. But Georges needs to use his head a little bit more which isn't unusual for a freshman. When he was busy celebrating his game winning layup, WVU had inbounded the ball and was headed back the other way. He's got to be more aware of what's going on there.

I've never seen a team go 0 for forever and then catch fire like that. They were like 9 of 12 on 3's in the second half.

I don't recall seeing such a thing, either, especially with so much clankish shooting prior to that point.

I know WV hit some free throws in the second half, but how many 2-pt FGs? I remember one or two. Maybe five?

I'm sure this has been said but I just saw the line and I'm really surprised they gave them 9 points for that game....no matter how good we are. Last year we were not getting lines like that at all....but last year to me seemed crazy

Niang's winner at the end is going to be huge for us and him the rest of the way. With the 2 early fouls and not having his offensive game going this could have been when he hit the "freshman wall". Being out on the floor in the last second situation and making the bucket (even it was a gimme) to win the game should drive him on.

Sure liked that last play that CFH called after the last timeout.

If Clyburn dribbled in after the clear out, Will could shoot, draw a foul, pass out or pass to Georges. ME fouled out, so Georges was the Man.

I agree. I fully expected KL to have the ball in his hands, and I think it threw WVU off just a bit. I was pretty sure, too, that Will would be taking the last shot and was very pleasantly surprised that he threaded the needle to Georges. That was a clutch finish.

‎#Cyclones Bubu Palo told the press before tonights game that he will play for the first time next Wednesday at Texas Tech.

Fred needs to remind him of these things. Had to be emotional for him - his father watching him play college ball for the first time, he makes a huge bucket with time running out to give us the lead, a packed Hilton going nuts. But he still needs to get back on defense. There's 3.5 seconds left, you can wait that long to celebrate!

made it four pages in before i got sick of it. you guys are jokers. West virginia threw up shots from everywhere in the second half from way beyond the arc, and every single one of them fell, whether there were two people in their face or not, when a team shoots like that, it doesnt matter. Time out or not. Media timeouts happened during their whole run, and next time down, they would hit. WV would beat any team in the nation if they shot like that for the whole game.

An 18-point lead almost turned into a "bad loss" tonight. The guys just need to learn how to close these games out a little better. Period.

I think they'll figure it out eventually. I just hope my heart is still beating when they do.

I don't think we could have done much differently. When the other team makes 9 threes in the final 12 mins shooting 81%, you are going to get outscored...by a lot. Especially since we mostly went away from shooting the 3 late in the second half.

Personally, I was pleasantly surprised at our play after a horrible first 5 minutes. Do I wish we won by 20? Sure. But these are the kind of games you need to win to play in the NCAA tournament. And we did.

I have a friend who is a WVU alumni. I was looking forward to having them in the conference. After the football game this fall and the basketball game last night, I want to tell him that I really don't like the attitude of his teams. I think I have another conference foe that I would just like to smash every time we play them. Seems like a good replacement for Missouri on my list.

Excellent, because Clyburn handling the point makes me nervous with his high dribble.

Something tells me that this isn't going away despite what we all think. Also, it appears that WC is getting better at that role. I think he actually has decent assist/to stats. His biggest problem is his lack of strength. When he has a stronger opponent, they can tie him up easily and rip the ball away.

Another positive from the game: West Virginia was VERY physical. Our guys aren't and don't like to play that way. And we still won despite them lighting the world on fire in the last 10 minutes.
