Official ISU vs. KSU game thread

As others have said in previous threads, our guard play is just bad and we will not win much until we can take advantage of pressure instead of making mistakes against pressure.

Hard to watch....I really miss Tinsley, Horton, Nurse, etc. they could control a game.

DG hasn't been good but I feel for him a bit tonight. He has to be gassed at this point. He has played the whole game or close to it and has had to chase their guards around all game. What frustrates me is that we haven't had a suitable second PG all season and have not tried to develop one. Petey isn't suited for the job. Buckley should have gotten consistent minutes and time running the offense just for games like tonight. Garrett needs some help and despite playing over 20 games we still don't have a backup PG. If you had no intention of playing Buckley than he should have been red-shirted.

I disagree. I think DG is the ONLY guy that can handle defensive pressure. He has to get worn out since we have no one else that takes the pressure off of him.

Not to mention, they allow KSU to handcheck the whole way up the court. DG has gotten away with his fair share of push-offs but I thought the referees allowed them to play too physical

He lasted a long time against Okie....

Its been about 10 years ago since they were here... pretty soon people will be laughing at us each time we bring them up.

Gone, thompson, petey, haluska- insert Colvin, Pomlee, Gilstrap. Looks a lot better doesn't it.

We have to count on CB leaving.

I kind of agree. He is a little sloppy and needs to attack more, but he has the skills.

I went to the Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma games this year. I just can't continue to watch us struggle.

I'll get roasted for this, but DG is not close to being the problem. Outside of Brackins and occasionally JVB, DG is the only other offensive option. Again outside of CB, there is almost no talent on this team.

BTW - JO used to break the press by stationing his big man in the middle of the court. That guy would then dish to someone who was (hopefully) open in transition. ISU's current set forces DG to take the ball from baseline to front court against pressure.

Agree totally. I'm also sure DG might appreciate it if a teammate would try to pick off his defender as he dribbles upcourt...
