Re: What an awful game

we found a way to win and you didn't...deal with it!

GO PANTHERS

You sure did with a little help from your friends in stripes. FT's UNI 20-23 and ISU 12-16 for the game. Seems close enough in a 6 pt game.

Re: glad i didn't sip too much kool-aid

They certainly played the old ineffective style quite effectively...

I DON'T THINK IT'S VERY EFFECTIVE!!!!! WE LOST THE GAME!!!

Sorry, just wanted to use the Caps Lock. I felt like I was ignoring it. Like the book I'm stalling on.

I should have been more clear - the old ineffective style sucked and lost games. That was the same thing that happened tonight. Old DG + old style = old result (loss).

Re: What an awful game

I would not count us out just like that....after all we just beat an undefeated Big 12 team....I mean a 5-1 team that should have lost to another MVC team.....hahahahahahahahahahahahah

I know I shouldn't be responsing to you, but how should we have lost to another MVC team?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? (Those are for you)

LOL....rriiiiiggggghhhhhttttt. The 11th best team in the Big 12 is the two-time defending MVC Champions Super Bowl.
Where do you get your rankings at cuz i would change your source...plus two time defending MVC champ isnt that great...respectable yes but nothing to brag about

There are 2 or 3 teams in the MVC that have accomplished more than ISU has ever sniffed in the NCAA tourney.

Also, I would rather finish 1st in the MAAC than consistently finishing 10th-12th in a 12 team conference. Btw, where is ISU going to go when the Big 12 breaks apart and they can't ride anyone's coattails?

The Big East, actually. Anywhere ISU goes >>>>>>>> MVC/Gateway Football Conference.

Re: glad i didn't sip too much kool-aid

Our "little run" has been going on for 7 years. With the recruits we have signed already, I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

Unfortunately, your "little run" that apparently won't stop soon can culminate in nothing more than conference titles in a conference that is generally outside the conscious of the average college basketball fan, and the occassional NCAA tournament victory. I'll stick with a school whose fallen on hard times but has the capacity to win a major-conference championship and make a legitimate tournament run, you have fun with your "March to the Arch" and playing unimportant games against teams with average talent.

I'm sorry, I didn't type "little" in there. We had your doormat of a coach in here where he killed excitement for men's basketball for me for 4 years. I'm counting that as a sort of espionage for you. I don't care about your recruits, I would hope they didn't get a look from us. We have the players in the system. I do see that stopping.

I agree. It's called automatic birth for winning a ****** league.

Whoa, MVC Champs...look out.

I know we want to overreact - but are we talking the same MVC champs that made a sweet 16 last year and beat the overall #1 seed in the NCAA tourney. I think we would all have taken that at any point in the last 5 years.

It wasn't a great loss, but not the easiest place to play and if we can make a few good looks from in the lane we have a great chance to win. Tough calls and not having a legitimate big man is going to make this a tough season against a lot of teams.

The Big East? I don't see the mighty Cyclones from Ames, Iowa getting phone calls from Georgetown and UConn anytime soon. The MAC or WAC is more like it....and you still won't win the conference.

As for my 11th best team in the Big 12...my stats will be present at the beginning of March when you are sitting at home AGAIN.

The MVC Champs have beaten you 4 times in the past 6 meetings.

Congrats, we have also been **** the past 4 years-- things will even out in Iowa and UNI will go back to its place, a contender in their own weak conference but generally unimportant within both the state of Iowa and the general college basketball landscape.

I love when UNI fans run football or conference smack. Always a fan favorite.

Plenty of UNI fans trolling. I'm surprised they'd waste their time since we suck so bad, etc.

My thoughts:
1. That may have been the worst TV broadcast of a game since the 70's. Started out black and white. When they did get color, they had brightness issues. Spent the 1st half wondering what the score was and how much time was left. Pathetic. Turned off the TV and listened to the radio in the 2nd.

2.Game went about how I thought it would. UNI slowed it down and got our bigs in foul trouble by backing into the lane. Our only offense is dribble penetration. Get ready, because a LOT of conference games are going to look like this with DG dribbling around and playing one on one.

3.What is up with the O'Rear mullet? Looked like Kenny Powers out there. Either the guy has a good sense of humor or he's an idiot.

4.UNI fans, enjoy your last year in the sun. Your team lost some major players last year and they'll lose two more this year. ISU and iowa are on the way up and UNI is on the way down. And don't tell me about recruiting...Drake has out-recruited you guys and Creighton with GMac is going to do the same. Get ready to be a nobody again. The only reason why ISU won't beat UNI by 30 next year is because Jacobson will probably have his guys crawling the ball up the court.

5.Nice game by Railey tonight. He didn't do anything great, but you can see that he has the potential to be decent in a few years.

6.Ejim needs to learn how to avoid the stupid fouls.

7.Terrible games by Scotty and JVB. They need to step up in games like this.

Boom.

And for sitting home during the NCAA tourny, that's fine, as we are rebuilding our program. Call me when UNI makes a Final Four, or an Elite Eight.

I've never seen more of a homer fan base....I will leave this board now. PLEASE don't pull a typical ISU and lose 15-20 games this season. We need this W to stay out of the useless win column come March.

Are you ok man..been drinking alittle...i dont see you guys going to the NCAA tournament and its not like you guys killed us we were in it the whole game so your team that is so good would be in the same place we are in the big 12

We already did. The four North "leftovers" were going to the Big East.

I like how you make fun of the MAC. The MAC actually plays D1 football.
