Official Iowa vs Purdue Thread

Bowling Green (2-5) could beat Minny but Nebraska couldn't. I've been loving the Nebraska optimism.
Good to see that Scott Frost is still in the "lose close" portion of the Gary Pinkel "1. Lose big 2. Lose close 3. Win close 4. Win big" plan for building program success.

Husker fans were really feeling good after they thrashed Northwestern.

There are no bottles to throw as all beer sold is in cans. Also, there has NEVER been beer sales at Kinnick until this season, so the comment about discontinuing liquor sales is 100% incorrect. Luxury suites have had access to liquor but that's not the crowd that's going to be abusive.

It was an ugly game for Iowa, it happens. This place gets quiet after losses like after the Baylor game. Glad Purdue made your weekend, maybe next year Campbell can finally beat "TOE".
Sometimes they win but ALL Iowa games are UGLY under the direction of the Kirk Klan. If the intention of your program is to win by 1) keeping it close with a dynamic defense, which they always have 2) punting excellence and winning the field position and the most important 3) NO turnovers by throwing dink passes and Woody HAYS 3 yards and a cloud of dust offensive strategy. Ferentz has parlayed that into a successful career ($$$) but exciting it is not.

I was driving through Iowa to Minnesota Saturday so I listened to some of this game. Wow is Podolak bad.

It's absolutely horrible radio. Yes, we are blessed to listen to Walters/Heft on the radio but Hawkeye Radio is just flat out bad. Gary Dolphin and Ed Podolak are simply not good at their jobs. It's unbelievably comical the amount of flat out errors they spout only to 2 seconds later rescind it by the Refs ruling. "It's gonna be holding." Nope procedure. "Tackled by big 67 John Doe" Nope John Doe is wearing 42 and the tackle was made by 65. Just painfully bad bad radio.

It looks like was the 16 oz aluminum bottles that the fans were throwing at Purdue players

I don’t know why everyone keeps ignoring Northwestern. Fitzgerald has had Kirk’s number no different than Purdue has.

Iowa will lose 2 more. NW is certainly a possibility. Any team remaining on their schedule can beat them if they can keep from turning it over.

The only way they cross the 50 yd line against Wisky is if the Def gets a turnover there.

With the ineptitude of both offenses, chances are Iowa will get a short field at some point because their punter pinned Wisconsin deep and then the badgers couldn’t move the ball.

Well then in the past they must have allowed fans to bring it in, because the story I was told about animal parts being thrown at the opposite team and then discontinuing alcohol were linked.

Don't forget never saying the down and distance, never mentioning the score, and never saying how much time is left.

But don't worry, Susie at the old folks home in West Liberty is listening today on her 97th birthday! Sponsored by Spahn & Rose Lumber!

Bucky's secondary isn't very good. They'll give up some big play that flips the field or is the deciding score. They're up there for defensive passing stats but they haven't exactly been playing QBU.
