Just imagine how different things would be if Iowa had taken the 3 touchdown loss they were headed towards with Clifford in the game...
Purdue is the best defense Iowa has faced all year. Hard to blame Petras a lot when he doesn't have any time to throw. Not saying he played good, because he didn't. But the entire team played like crap too.
Man, what a historic, record breaking loss. 48 years since Purdue has done this, and they also broke the longest non ranking streak for a P5 school.
JFC! Let the excuses start. I thought Iowa had an NFL type o-line the way y'all were talking it up over the last few weeks. Don't forget they were outcoached to.
Out coached, out played. They got their butts kicked in every facet of the game. Worst Iowa loss since the Rose Bowl. They don't get their doors blown off like that very often. But hopefully they can turn it around and finish strong. I remember the 2004 Iowa team getting beat by ASU 47-7. That team went on to tie for the conference championship and beat a very good LSU team in the Cap One Bowl and finish in the top 10.
That concussion was late in the game. Notre Dame covered him a lot better than Iowa. But, Notre Dame has a top 5 draft pick in their secondary.
