Official Iowa vs ISU Game Thread

Kickoff is less than 60 minutes away!

Finally got most of our stuff moved late yesterday and the TV is hooked up. Taking a break today to watch the game.

is there a reason to fire up the chat room? i would probably be in and out, but if there is enough people we could get a game chat going.
 
14-10 Halftime.

Not a good sign to see Iowa score late in the 2nd quarter. Now they have some momentum and they get the ball right back in the 3rd. Overall a very good half for ISU. I would like to see more shots downfield, all of our passes seem to have been very short. We need to take the momentum back right away, and a good way to do that would be to force a 3-and-out to start the 2nd half.

Keys to win: 1. Force a few turnovers; don't give any away. 2. Keep a good running game; don't become dependant on the pass. 3. Get the ball to Blythe! 4. Our defense must hold Iowa big play's in check.

If we can accomplish 3/4 of those goals we have a very good chance of finishing off the game with a big W. 2 or less, and it's a tossup.

Let's keep those offensive drives like our last one, though. If we can keep that going...
 
Do we even have a special teams coach??? 22 yards a return. Now Tate has the ball again, I see more bad things happening
 
You know that drive at the end of the first half was a true thing of beauty, our offense was clicking like it is capable. Boy I am sure glad that we sat on the ball at the end of the half, we didn't need to use those darn timeouts anyway.
For CyinCO, this is what many Iowa State fans have been complaining about. Mac won't EVER play for the win. Just once GO FOR THE JUGGULAR and throw it right back at the #$#^&%ing Hawkeyes
 
But of course, we wanted to take Meyer out of of rythm (sp???) so now when we need that big play we can diminish his chances of making one.
 
Way to go Mac, let's pull another defeat from the jaws of victory. 4th and 10 with 5 minutes left, and you go for it????? wtf?????? Then they decide to run a QB draw??? That play is there all day, on 1st and 2nd downs, NOT 4TH AND 10!!!!!
 
ESPN owes us an apology on the announcing for this game. Both commentators were bush league....you would think a rivalry like this would have brought a better announcing team.

Aussie, I agree with you on that, but when your head coach is this "bush league" then you kind of have to expect that you aren't going to get the "A" team
