*** Official IOWA STATE vs #11 Oklahoma Game(Day) Thread ***

We were OK in noncon but aren't probably going to be as good of a 3pt shooting team in conference play. Need to get that fixed and we're in this one.

I don’t know how it will land with this thread, but something that I have to say about TJ‘s coaching is that Porter was constantly just working the officials something tj doesn’t do and we maybe get some calls if he would just start twirling the officials more. He doesn’t have to yell but porter got a ton of calls because he was doing this

Houston is one of the best teams in the country. We played one good team (Oklahoma) and lost so I’m not convinced we can beat Houston. Guess we will see.
I've seen us beat "one of the best teams in the country" more times than I have fingers, toes and apendages. If we are in Hilton, we always have a chance.

Doubling like we do leads to turnovers. It also leads to open 3's which we all know. But you wonder if the our defender's one on one defense suffers knowing he has help.

Our 3 most important scorers went a combined 8/27 for 22 points. If even one of them shoots well we may have won that game. Unfortunately our 3 best scorers are Keshon who is inconsistent still but can be amazing, Milan who is a true freshman, and Tamin who is improved but isn't really a natural scorer. It's going to be a bit of a roller coaster in this league especially on the road but like the fact that we hung in there.

Encouraged by Ward and Rob around the basket and Watson gave some good minutes. Honestly looking at the box score it is shocking we were in the game.

That and just don't come out of the gates ice cold. Honestly after the first 10 minutes the offense didn't look that bad. Not as good as it did crushing bad teams, but it was serviceable against a good team.

It’s been talked about for 3 years, I am guilty as well but the fact is nobody knows if it means anything or has any merit. I lean to trust TJ is doing everything he can to help the team win.

And they got some good looks to start the game. I'd like to see the "What If" if that first Milan 3 doesn't rattle out. It looked good.

I thought the refs were fine. Not counting the last couple of minutes, I believe more fouls had been called on OU.

Finally got a lead, then couldn't make a shot.
