*Official Iowa-ISU Prediction Thread*

I think we are done, you have made it clear you would rather beat an AAC opponent on their home field than play for Big 12 titles. Even @1976 is willing to take a troll to this extent, so congrats on being "pot committed" on this one.

You're literally talking about the Big 12 North. Give it up

Same thing holds for this year. Lets say ISU is 7-3 going into the K-State game, they win and they go to the Big 12 title game. You'd rather they don't play their best game, you'd rather win the Armed Forces Bowl. Nice.

I'd rather play the best game of the year every single year for a bowl game than just randomly assuming the final regular season game could mean something and then regress from there

Honest thoughts on the game:

QB's: Thought both looked pretty poorly. Not great decision making for either one of them

RB's: None of Iowa's RB's impressed me, just looked average. Iowa did a great job taking Montgomery out of the game and ISU's run blocking did nothing to help

TE's: I thought ISU did a great job keeping both Iowa's TE's in check. I thought Allen played pretty well for the most part, had some good blocks and some bad ones but that's a tough team to block against

WR's: Iowa's WR's struggled to get separation between Peavy and Payne. Iowa did a great job putting pressure on Kempt and took ISU's WR's out of the game

DL: Iowa's DL was stupid good, no other way to put it. I thought Lima and Uwazurike were fantastic

LB's: Rose obviously caught everyone's attention. Harvey had just an OK game, thought Spears looked great. #32 for Iowa was all over the place, really impressed with him.

Secondary: Both teams secondaries looked great, I think mostly because of both teams offenses and QB's struggling

Special teams: Rough opening game for Corey Dunn, that's about all you can say about that

Coaching: Iowa did a good job making adjustments and forced ISU into trying to run the ball up the middle which wasn't working. I thought ISU did a great job of spreading out Iowa's defense but the lack of execution was painful to watch and they didn't really know how else to try to move the ball

Fair assessment. The ISU O line will be interesting to see what or if improvements can be made. I think their issues lead to many of Kempt's issues and it snowballed a bit.

Bump!! LOL!!!
Well I got the 13 right. We have a lot of work to do on offense ,and I will give Iowa's D a little credit. The defensive line is better than I thought they'd be, and our offensive line is very unsettled to say the least. We will be better next week, and by the end of the season, I'm confident we will be a very good team. Just have a ton of work to do on that line. Iowa will be the same as they always are. 7-5, look good a couple of games, and look crappy a few games. Meh. Another prediction that I made that is absolutely true....Brian Ferentz is still a douche

So you think Iowa goes 5-5 the rest of the season? 4-5 not counting this weekend against UNI who we should win comfortably against.

They'll lose to Wisconsin, Penn State and then at least one more for sure, probably two that they're favored in. That's just the KF way and I think your offense is going to be an issue all season long. 8-5 final record IMO

I see a 9-3 season. You also didnt account for upsetting a better team which is also part of the KF way. The only upset chances would be home against Wisky and at PSU as we will probably be favored in every other game.

I could see losses against Wisky, PSU, NU or Purdue but not all 4 of them.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them drop one against an Indiana or similar type game on the road. I know you will probably disagree with this but I think you guys are very limited offensively in terms of talent and playmakers. Fant and Hockensen are great pass catching TE's but both leave a lot to be desired in terms of run blocking

9-3, lol. 7-5. With that offense, you should be okay with 7-5

I said before the game that each team would be better because of this game. That was spot on. ISU is gonna benefit seeing that D, and they will be better because of those growing pains of facing that tough of a Defense, as they won't see a better one all year long. Iowa is gonna benefit playing a tough 3/4 defense as they will face another one in two weeks and Nebraska's at the end of the year. The experience for both will be invaluable.

As far as your prediction for Iowa, I can't take it serious, as that is what you WANT, not what is reality. Iowa will win 9 or more games this year.

ISU's outlook it pretty positive IMO as well. I think the D will keep ISU in every game. When you play good D, you always have a chance to win. My only concern if I were an ISU fan, is just how much will that Oline hurt you this year, as it is clearly ISU weakest position group.

Oh, and I love the way Brian Ferentz is in ISU fans heads. I love that he is the architect of the whole TOE stuff, and I find it hilarious that he can troll ISU fans and coaching staff that much.

Iowa won't be the best defense we play this year. PFF already has TCU's DL better than yours and their back 7 is MUCH better than Gervase and company

ISU's season low in points scored and total yards will come vs Iowa.
