Official HB Decision Day Thread

Optimism:
He is announcing on Friday before our first official game, having the big public celebration, not shrinking from the Ames spotlight, just so he can attend the game tonight and be greeted hometown style.

Pessimism:
Bill Self is seen in the Des Moines airport coming in on a Lear jet.

?? The young man lives in Ames, he's in high school. You think he'd fly to Raleigh and make his announcement from there? Drive to Des Moines and make the announcement from the capitol steps? Good grief, folks, get a little grip. Why would he make the announcement, regardless of school, from anywhere but Ames?

By the way, I went to my dentist this morning. He didn't know anything. :jimlad:

But now this Tom Cruise, HB, plane on a treadmill thing....Hmmm. Add a little parallel universe theory, maybe the good guys will win out yet. :wink:

Thought coaches weren't allowed at these signings?
 
I'll take a sip of some kool-aid. Any program can make a run with the right people....George Mason in 2006. If he does commit, theres no reason to think other top recruits might consider us more seriously.

Coaches are in a no contact period for recruits. If Bell Self is anywhere close to Ames he is an idiot.

Poster started a thread and says it came from a good source close to the situation. Supposedly, President Geoffroy has received a personal invitation from Barnes to attend the signing event this afternoon.

I think I might implode before the moment even arrives...this is getting to be too much. But it is getting me through the work day.
