***Official Friday Beer Thread***

I beg to differ, my friend. I'm traveling on business in Windsor, Ontario, so I paid a pretty penny for a 12-pack of "Keystone Lager" in the red bottle. Can't wait for the game!

I'm just hoping my illicit streaming website pulls through!

Had some Negra Modelo with filet mignon steak tacos for dinner. Always good stuff but especially with the meal.

I went to the fridge only to find no beer in there....So I grabbed one of the wife's Twisted Teas......I cracked it, took a swig.....I thought i was drinking dog ****.....FYI dont try the blueberry...I'm just sayin.....

Picked up a sam adams Harvest collection to try their pumpkin ale and bonfire rauchbier (planning on brewing beers similar to these in the next couple weeks) and enjoying some homebrew. Been too long since a cyclone game.

(long time lurker, this is a phenomenal website. first time poster.)

I tried the bonfire rauchbier for the first time last weekend at at a tailgate party.

I wasn't expecting it to taste SO MUCH like smoke. It was like smoked beef brisket in a bottle! About halfway through the bottle I started to like it though.

It is pretty smokey, but delicious. The one I plan on doing will also be aged with oak chips and makers mark so I am hoping this will balance out the taste. I've done 'bourbon barrel' beers before and I love them, I hope this turns out just as good.

Haven't tried that particular beer, but have had Shiner Smokehouse. If it's anything like that, it's definitely a flavor that takes some getting used to.

Kinda matches my experience, and recommendation: Try it warm(er). I REAAAALY didn't like it when I first tried it, but I tried leaving one out while I finished something else, and it was a lot better when not fridge temp. Cellar temp would be good. Don't know if it's actually true, but I know cold mutes flavors, maybe not smoke(?), causing the difference.

But, to answer the question: had a Schell's Deer Brand, now on a Schlitz. Millstream Pilsner on deck. Going to be in Galena, Il for Oktoberfest tomorrow, then home for the game.

For me, it was Wailua Wheat on draft in SF tonight. Tasty passion fruit beer from Kona Brewing Company. Happy hour was $2.00/pint. Doesn't get any better than that!
