I had the same thought... Tyler is way to talented to not draw interest from major programs if he waits to the late period and major programs miss on other PG targets.
The last two classes that Prohm has put together are very talented and I would expect they will see the floor early. If one of ISU players didn't like their situation it is possible the may try to find a place that they can get more minutes.

To be clear I don't want any of the current Cyclones to leave but, can see a situation were it could happen and be best for the player.

My guess is we are done with Harris. I would think if we have a Transfer we will take a transfer or a Juco to not have to replace a 5 man class in 5 years. That is what prohm hated about all the kids that graduated. So If he can have a Juco or grad transfer come in it would be way better. Don't get me wrong. Love Harris.

Most likely done, though if he's available and we have a spot, I think we'd take him in a heartbeat. If he holds out until spring, he could be a highly, highly coveted recruit. That's a bit of a risk with how high his stock is now and his diminutive size.
 
The Rivals guys continue to say ISU is not out of the Tyler Harris recruitment yet. Also, I found it interesting that Corey Evans says Horton-Tucker may have a chance to still rise as he is already very highly rated by Rivals.



Iowa State was a big winner last week thanks to the commitment of Rivals150 four-star wing Talen Horton-Tucker, boosting an already quality 2018 class.

The Cyclones aren't done yet as they remain in the market for a point guard commitment, with the top target being Rivals150 four-star guard Tyler Harris.

Whether Iowa State lands Harris or not, fans have to be excited about what they have headed their way.

George Conditt has a chance to work his way into the final 2018 Rivals150. He still must get stronger and develop more of an inside-out skillset but, in today’s game where everyone is expected to spread the floor with the perimeter, Conditt has the chance to evolve into a major weapon in Ames.

Zion Griffin could be an excellent two-way producer for the Cyclones, while Tyrese Haliburton is a 6-foot-5 wing that has point guard skills and could be used on the ball in certain situations.

Griffin, Haliburton and Conditt could each see their rankings improve yet Horton-Tucker may have the best case to make a rise. He's just 16-years-old and boasts one of the most versatile skillsets in the 2018 class. Horton-Tucker's upside is tremendous and his athleticism has rapidly improved.

Major props to Prohm and the staff identifying underrated prospect and landing the commitments (bodes well for future prospects too). It may have taken a little longer but each of the 4 commits are getting their proper recognition.

Corey Evens/rivals has been pretty consistent that ISU is still the favorite for Tyler Harris. Well see how that plays out but intriguing.

Definitely agree that it's amazing how the staff was able to identify and land three breakout players of the summer. Prohm may have a leg up on point guard recruits going forward due to his track record, but correctly identifying risers is a way you can always be successful at a place like Iowa State.

If Harris waits until the spring to decide we could get back in the mix and obviously be a serious contender. I see he is one of Memphis' two top targets right now though and they have zero commits. It will be interesting to see if he commits and signs in a week or keeps his recruitment open. I'm assuming Memphis is pressing him right now for a commitment.

Clearly he'd have to wait until after the season is complete and attrition takes its toll. His size seems to really be holding back his options, but I still think he would be highly coveted signing in the spring.

Most likely but could be a mid term transfer
 
Just my impression, seems like we are Harris' first choice but only if he knows Wiggi is no more two and done. I just don't see extended minutes w/ those two on the floor together because of matchup issues. 4 star recruits usually don't sign on to sit behind a guy in the previous class. Guessing Tubby is willing to wait for spring and even if not 4 stars rarely have issues finding offers.

I'm easily entertained by theories for recruits that don't say much publicly.

I want Tyler Harris really bad, but do we really want 5 freshmen and have to relive this problem 4 years down the road. Tyler Harris will more than likely be a stud at whatever place he goes but class balance is something coach has talked about last year. If we are actually still pursuing him I guess coach is willing to have to deal with this problem down the road in order to land a possible stud scorer.

My guess is all five won’t start and play four years. Not to mention it was just bad timing with prohm taking the job late in that recruiting cycle. It would be much easier next time.
