I had no idea there was contempt for flag guy, although I do agree, if you want to be the flag guy get there early and get a seat.
I love the original Flag Guy and the tradition itself. However, I feel like the guy currently "serving" as Flag Guy takes it more as a burden than an honor. He seems entitled to it and is not as excited or pumped up as previous Flag Guys. Basically, it looks like he treats it as a job and he's just "punching the clock."
I still appreciate that he's doing it, but he's been the least "likeable" Flag Guy that I have seen. Plus, he can't seem to get around Hilton fast enough anymore and seems out-of-shape relative to previous Flag Guys. We never see the Flag wave at the end!
Hopefully he can show some more enthusiasm. Also, I LOVE IT when Brackens outruns him / chases him around the concourse! The speed Brackens shows is just phenomenal and always gives us great laughs up in Section 207. Keep it up, Jared!! Love your work. Yours too, Flag Guy: just give it a little more love, man!! The flag guy has his spot saved by one of the security people. He is also the "quiet please guy" that holds up the quiet sign when we shoot free throws. He sits on the band side of student section in the first row in the very corner seat next to the opposing team's bench. I had no problem with Mr. Flag guy until the thanksgiving break game. I bought two tickets in the student section for $5 because my student tickets were not covered during break. I bought front row tickets not knowing what side I was on or what seat I was in. I went to the security guy so he could show me where my seat was. He looked over where my seat was and it was actually the seat where Flag boy sits and he asked if I would sit somewhere else. I politely said yes because there was 2 seats very close to there, but honestly how can the security people save him a seat when he doesn't have a ticket for that seat and he doesn't wait in line for games when its the student section.
We rush the court on the game that clinches us the Big 12 title, which very well could be OSU.
Other than that, I really don't think we should rush the court no matter who we beat. In Hilton, we should expect to win every game.
You can't afford it? This ain't the SEC. We don't get fined for rushing the court. :spinny:
