Did he resign as B12 President or just as chair of the expansion committee? I saw a correction on another board from last night noting that is was just for the expansion committee.
Ya i'm not sure this is accurate. No one else is posting this. I'm hoping false.
Big 12 Conference said this was false yesterday as he was never chair of that committee and was still 1 of the 5 active members of the committee.

That is a very good article and why every statement should be taken with a grain of salt until official.
That was written by an aggie who is also a Tea Party nutjob who spouts off crazy scenarios without any proof. Yesterday, he said KU was going to the ACC without KSU.
IMO, adding Louisville is a no-brainer. The old Drake-Louisville rivalry was an epic one in the old MVC days with Drake and Maury John. So the logistics makes sense. Besides the fact they have a good athletic budget and athletic department.
WVU is also a no-brainer. But they will end up in the SEC most likely if Mizzou stays. Prefer Mizzou to stay. And even if they do then you pursue WVU. But most likely you will get one of the two.
Next up is TCU. Logistics and available. Another Texas team, I know. But still. We lose aTm and offset that with a decent TCU team looking for a BCS home. You pluck them before they truly enter the Big East and Louisville has even more incentive to come to the Big 12. So 2 reasons for picking up TCU.
Last up would be Cincinatti or BYU. BYU has been argued for. And would be an okay get IMO. Cincinnati has potential with a lot of TV sets but is in a Pro Sports town. Cincinnati is already a BCS school. BYU has a decent fan base but logistically is a little out there. But in this day and age, not as big of a deal.
So my prediction is:
TCU comes on board right away. And we go with 10 teams.
Mizzou stays then WVU goes to SEC.
Mizzou leaves for SEC then we will add BYU right away and WVU will be available after the waiting period.
BYU will be added but they may remain independent until Louisville joins. The timing of their joining completely depends on whether Mizzou stays.
Louisville will be added after the waiting period.
Big East will try to poach the teams it needs from C-USA to remain as a football conference. But with UConn and Rutgers slated to eventually go to the ACC, it is doubtful they will survive. They will become a BB only conference. And Cinci will slide back to C-USA as the Big East ceases to exist as a football conference.

100% effort should be on getting mizzou to stay. None of the teams that are available are nearly as attractive. Recruit our own first then go after others.

IMO, it will not be Boise. Way to far out there. NO TV sets. The only reason they have thrived is because they take athletes with academic issues and can take them while those of us in the Big 12 are restricted on partial qualifiers. Mizzou will be offset by WVU if they leave. The SEC is going to Mizzou and if they turn it down it goes to WVU. Big 12 gets one of those two. The other three as you mention will be BYU, TCU and Louisville. And the timing is the issue as to when they will all join.
Wow, the Cincy site, Bearcat Lair, is really blowing up with talk of Cincy to Big XII. You have to sign up as it's a premium site, but they are reporting Cincy, WV, the 'Ville, TCU, BYU all working to join Big XII. From the BYU thread here at CF, it sounds like BYU is pretty solid. Should the Big XII go to 14?
