I know this thread can be (reasonably) dreaded by some, but what are your thoughts? I compiled the average predictions that Baylor fans have over at Baylorfans.com. They seem to think it will be a walk in the park (rightfully so after last years 71-7 drubbing, and a few of their posters think it will be much closer than most would say). But, the Bears have struggled in JTS and i think BU struggles for a while on the road in their first true road test.

Average www.baylorfans.com prediction:
Baylor- 53
ISU- 16

I give some statistic type predictions, and a final score prediction as well.

1. Luke Knott leads the defense in tackles.
2. Aaron Wimberly rushes for over 75 yards. ISU cracks 150 rushing as a team.
3. Bibbs and Lazard catch TD passes.
4. Montgomery catches his first pass as a Cyclone.
5. Nigel Tribune intercepts Bryce Petty.
6. Morrissey's sack streak is ended at 3 games.
7. KD Cannon scores on a play of 60+ yards.
8. Baylor offense has 550 yards.

1st Quarter: 14-10
2nd Quarter: 28-17
3rd Quarter: 42-20
4th Quarter: 49-27
FINAL Baylor 49 ISU 27

last week I told myself not to make a prediction. So I didn't.. And we won. So same for this week.

Cole Netten drills a 60-yard FG as time expires to secure the upset as the crowd goes wild.

Baylor 45 - 31. I think the offense will continue to improve and Burnham's crew will play hard, but the Bears are just too explosive to hold down for an entire game.

I'd feel better about this game if Baylor came a little later in the schedule after ISU's D had seen a few lesser programs in the Big 12 running a similar type of system. But there are just too many guys playing big roles right now who simply have not seen an offense this fast yet.

With that said, I have a little hope for an upset. If the Cyclones make a big play early and get on the scoreboard first, then the crowd starts going bonkers and maybe momentum swings our way. I'm excited to see if Mangino pulls out all the stops for this one. Could be a very fun night at JTS.

Sam Richardson leads the team down the field with one minute to go and throws a TD to EJ Bibbs as time expires for a final score of 45-13 Baylor.

Baylor 56
ISU 14

I don't think we're giving their defense enough credit, and I don't think we can run the ball effectively against it. That makes us one-dimensional and pretty easy to shut down.

If we weather the storm Baylor brings in the 1st quarter, it might be closer, and we might even have a shot at it. Most likely, it'll be 28-0 or 35-0 by the end of that quarter, and it's all over but the crying.

We surprise people and hold Baylor in check...even get a couple turnovers, but in the end its just too much.

It kind of makes me sad how negative you've become about the football program. You used to be cool, man. :jimlad:
