This is the worst coached team in ISU history given the talent level

What? We have significant holes.

The freshmen disappear a lot. That's to be expected.

NWB is a game manager. He's not going to lose you games but he isn't going to win then either.

Shayok is a jump shooter. He gets in trouble putting the ball on the floor.

Lard is still raw and poor fundamentally. Ridiculous athleticism but plays like he's still the best player on the floor like in HS where you can get away with being completely undisciplined.

Jacobson is a role player but the best option we have. He plays hard but he doesn't have any skills that stand out.

Wigginton is the only combo threat we have. He can take over a game but when he tries and doesn't make shots we're toast.

I don’t agree with the original poster but saying that since we are considerably better than last year proves he is a great coach doesn’t make sense either. Otherwise you can argue that he turned a 2nd palace squad in 16-17 into the last place squad in 17-18. It’s all predicated on the talent level. It is baffling right now.

This feels like a team that will finish the season 3-2, get bounced in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament, then win a couple in the NCAA Tournament and make it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Or they'll do the above and get beat by an 11 seed in the first round.

Bobby Knight used to say, “mental toughness is to physical as four is to one.” His point was a simple proportion to stress the importance of mental toughness!
The Cyclones were not mentally tough tonight. Baylor was absolutely tenacious on the boards, fought harder and outplayed the Cyclones.

This is exactly the plan. You bring our one guy with size out to the 3pt line or worse when they tell them to hedge it hard. They get to rebound with our one post at half court. That is a mismatch and it shows.

It's the perfect example of how badly Scott Drew outcoached Steve Prohm. OWNED him.

Sorry, that's McD's honor with Brackins final year. This team is no where close to underachieving as much as that team.

Good perspective and diagnosis of the game. Knight is spot on, and it proved out (the wrong way) tonight.

On the post game interview Prohm just admitted he doesn't know how to control tempo--nice.

Well, at least he admits he got outcoached. Problem is, it happens too often.

When your top 7 guys are being lazy and not doing what they're told, what should you do? Put someone in who gives a s**t, that's what. But nope, he just sticks with the guys who didn't give a s**t tonight and let them keep getting their a**es kicked in. Nice strategy coach, glad it worked out so well for you.

I'd be ticked if I were Conditt sitting over there watching Baylor get rebound after rebound after rebound with none of our guys doing anything whatsoever to stop it, and not even caring to try to stop it, but your coach won't give you a shot.

Just don't understand why Prohm won't try a zone defense once in a while just to change things up let alone stop teams from dribble driving us to death. It's like he thinks we can stop dribble penetration when it is painfully obvious we can't.
