Saw this last night. Fun movie. Time travel movies kind of creep me out and I think it's due to how dark and maybe underrated Back to the Future II was.
Something I didn't catch...when you have the stones and do the snap, do you get to just think about what you want to happen?

Pretty much. I actually have an issue with having to “snap” your fingers in order to activate them. When Thanos initially says he could just snap his fingers and make half of all life disappear he was essentially just saying that with the stones it would be as easy as just snapping your fingers. Then they go and make it a necessary mechanism to utilizing the stones? Seems dumb to me, but I’m in super nit picky territory here.
I think one thing you have to think about is the Avengers saw the stones work and they saw the snap activated the stones, so they are going to mimic it the best they can, because it is the only way they have seen the stone work.
Finally got around to seeing it this weekend. It was more or less what I expected - the only things that surprised me was Thanos getting his head lopped off not even thirty minutes into the movie and the Thor Lebowski plot point.
It felt a little long but I was prepared for that. It was meant to tie up all the loose ends from the first 20+ movies and they couldn't have done that with a two hour run time.
Favorite parts -
Korg, alive and well (and getting bullied online)!
Professor Hulk, halfheartedly smashing stuff and roaring when he time traveled back to New York.
The "Avengers, assemble" at the end where everyone started popping through the portals, especially Sam's "On your left" line. Nice callback to Winter Soldier.
Tony and Peter Parker's reunion. Tugged at the heartstrings some.
Least favorite parts -
Black Widow and Hawkeye's back and forth over who would sacrifice themselves for the soul stone. Got silly very quickly after she stunned him and knocked him down. That should have been the end right there.
The time travel plot. Sorry, I didn't get it. It didn't ruin the experience by any means, but they lost me.
The all-women scene in the final battle. There's fan service and then there's just straight up pandering. This is part of a larger problem with Captain Marvel, but she has God-like powers. She literally just tore through a spaceship to arrive on the scene. She doesn't need an escort from anyone to get through enemy lines.
Overall, I liked it. It was a fitting send-off to the old guard. I'll be curious to see how they move on with the MCU now. I would guess their meal tickets for now are Spiderman, Black Panther, and GotG for one more run.
