To be fair to fans, we were just coming off a rivalry loss and a loss to a MAC team we beat by 30+ a year ago…all after a 4-8 season. Fans were right to be pissed.
But most rational people said “let’s see if Campbell can right the ship”. And he did.
So to come here and dunk on fans is as silly as those fans who wanted Campbell fired after 3 games this season.

I think the fans who accept mediocrity without question owe everyone an apology. I’m happy to be 5-3, but imagine the conversation we’d be having if we were 7-1 (or even 8-0).
It shouldn’t take a loss to a MAC team to learn offensive play calling or clock management at this point in the program. And the Baylor game showed us we probably haven’t even mastered the latter.

Sanders and Norton also seem to be more patient and are letting things set up a bit, earlier in the year they went 100mph downhill, now they're better at picking their spots. The RB's and OL both seem to be coming together. Norton in particular ran really smart yesterday.
You’ve been pretty miserable throughout these threads. Maybe enjoy the win a bit more and care a little less how fans acted when we had lost 10 of our last 14 games.
Those fans need to be reminded of their idiocy. They want us to forget their idiocy. They wanted Campbell fired. The rot had set In.
Especially when a lot of people are incredibly dishonest about where the criticism was coming from. Anyone in here saying "people were getting down on campbell after 1 bad game" is full of ****. 2021 was a massive underperformance given the talent and 2022 was terrible. Those first few games of the year looked identical to last year(and in the case of the iowa game, like most of the other times we've played Iowa under campbell), so people were rightly concerned. And note, it wasn't until a day or two later that it came out that the 'food poisoning' was actually norovirus and a lot worse and more widespread than most people knew at the time.
Very thankful things have changed for the better over the last 5 games. Hope we can pick up one more to get a winning conference record and a bowl game.
I am enjoying the win. Also enjoying pointing out how wrong the idiots were. Evidently those whining fans can not take criticism.

Trusting Campbell. Are you saying that is an extreme position to take? Disagree. Trust Campbell. That is the lesson to be learned. Trust Jamie Pollard. Another lesson to learn.
Yeah people acting like it was unreasonable to even start to question if the program was regressing are being just as annoying as people that were wanting Campbell fired after 3 games this year. I am very glad my doubt was wrong because I really like Campbell.
