People complain about people using their snowblowers at 6 am. What about those that go out at 9:30 at night? I get up at 4:30 so I’m usually headed to bed around that time, so I was a tad upset.

Neighbor was out using his snowblower at 10pm last night and I had trouble getting to sleep. With snowblowers, I don't get too upset because people need to clear it before they go to work.

I do have one neighbor up the street the will run his snow blower 3-4 times during a snowfall. That gets a bit annoying

I need a skid loader to move snow. I am running out of room to push it and need to actually move it (preferable scoop and dump in the ponds).

You use a pickup and blade? I would hire a skid with a blower and blow that stuff way back. Nice part about that is it seams to leave it a little more so you can still get a little more push into it.

I try not to go out before 6am or after 9pm. I was out at 8:30pm last night which is a tad later than I'd like.

I try to instill some goodwill when I do that though. We live on a corner. Last night I did the sidewalks all the way to the other side of the block; so I did two full sides of the block. I also did a small portion of my neighbors driveway. I hope it buys me some grace for running my snowblower that late.

I don't get people getting upset about snowblower noise. Lawn mowers I understand. You don't have to mow your lawn at 5 in the morning to get to work. Clearing your driveway is just a necessity to go places, and snowfall unfortunately can't be scheduled around the times you sleep.

Since the windows are all closed I can usually only barely hear my neighbor's snowblower.

Yep. Not just driveways to get out, but sidewalks for kids to catch the bus.

People would actually be mad if the snow plows didn't come around to clean their street, and those routinely run in the middle of the night. It's just a part of life in the Midwest and really only happens a handful of times each winter.

I know every bit helps, but take a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with snow, bring it in to melt and you'd be surprised how little water is in it comparatively. Best bet is to move the snow to a grade that will drain to the pond when it melts eventually if possible.

Yeah, i got home at 10pm last night. I wasnt about to plow through the snow with my car and drag all that into the garage, nor did I want to pack down the driveway snow under tires. So i knocked it out quick before pulling in. Can't say I feel bad about it at all.

I do my best not to blow it toward the street but if there’s wind from the north, I’m not having it blow back in my face for an hour just to save some plowing.

I never realized people got so upset over snowblower noise. I guess maybe there is more space between houses in small towns, I never hear them. Two of my sons would have been born at home if my husband didn’t shovel the driveway late at night.

I do my best not to blow it toward the street but if there’s wind from the north, I’m not having it blow back in my face for an hour just to save some plowing.

Whatever direction I can get it to go without the wind blowing it back onto me. If I have to go towards the street then I drop it into the area between the sidewalk and curb though. Fairly certain it's illegal to blow it into the street, and if you do it'll just end up back in the end of your driveway anyway when the plows come by.

I don't know about in the city, but rural says dispose of it on your own property. I've gotten chewed out a couple times for pushing it across the road into the adjacent ditch. I think the thought process is that most wont push it far enough in and it will melt onto the road. Also it gets hard enough after moving it that it's hard on their equipment when they try to "wing" it further off the shoulder with the maintainer.

I've never understood the issue with blowing snow late or early. It's not like mowing when people have windows open. Even if it's my direct neighbor, its just a quiet hum in the house and we live in a typical suburban neighborhood. I was out doing my drive and the neighbors drive from like 9-10 last night. I've been out as late as 11-12 to get it taken care of before morning.

We leave for the day at 6:30. We for sure have to go out and run the snowblower before 6 a.m. If that bothers my neighbors, then they can get over it. Not all of us get a two-hour delay, work from home, or don't work at all.

Usually try to keep it on my property but if a bit happens to make it's way into the street than opps. Helps if it's warmer out then stuff in the street will melt before a plow would need to come back.

I haven't seen anyone here 'so upset', more voicing that it can be a mild annoyance. I think we all understand that it has to be done, and sometimes it has to be done early or late. No big deal. MY gripe, is the neighbor who does it at 5 am, then goes back in to bed for 2 hours (on a day when there's no school & him/his wife are working from home). In those scenarios, it doesn't HAVE to be done at 5 am, so that's a little inconsiderate. Our houses are about 15-20 ft apart, so you can definitely hear the big 2 stagers inside.
