Are we blaming this on “shrinkage” or “compaction”?Had about 12” here in Waukee but stepped outside and it quickly decreased.
My blower may be 40 some years old and not quite work like it used to, but dammit it starts right up and I can just shove that thing through. Gets the job done and the wife is happy.

They repeatedly come up short.
In Polk County we had one in 97 I think that was easily 12 inches. We also had an early April storm in 99 that I think was around 15 inches.There was something like 16" in early February 2011. At least there was that much in Clarence - 35 mi E of CR. Maybe CR didn't get that much then.
What can I say, the cold months will do that to you.
